I wake up to the sun in my eyes. It pierces between the wooden slats of the door, causing me to squint as I sit up from my position on the floor. Why am I on the floor?

I look over to Toothless, who is still sleeping semi peacefully, tongue hanging out of his mouth and drooling onto the ground. That's gonna take forever to clean up. I poke his side, and he grumbles, awake but not responding.

"Toothless, come on." He cracks one eye open, gives his dragon laugh at me, then closes it again. Ugh. Fine. We'll have to do it the hard way. I get up, making my way across the room so I have a clear running start.

As I make it to the corner, I catch a glimpse of myself in a shard of a broken mirror, that for some reason is laying by my desk. My hair is nuts, some of it sticky because of Toothless' drool, and my face is covered in something as well. Something that feels almost like tear stains, and my eyes are swollen and red. Ew.

Once I make it by the fireplace, I turn back to Toothless and yell,

"You asked for it!" I charge, throwing myself on top of him with all the strength I can muster. He bats at me, growing and struggling as I shut his eyes closed. "Hahha! I win!" I jinxed it, as he flips me over, and creates a cave around me with his wings. "It's dark!" He laughs, then proceeds to lick me.

"Toothless! You- you know that doesn't wash out!" He sits on me to prove a point. I can't breathe, HELP! "O- ok, fine!" Wheeze. "You win!" Satisfied, the stupid loaf of bread rolls off of me, and shuts his eyes again. I run out to quickly wash up, then head for the clubhouse for breakfast.

"Hey Sven." I muss his hair. He looks kinda sad. "What's wrong?" He doesn't look up at me, simply nudges his food, as he mumbles,

"Nothin."

"You sure? Don't look so good." Out of the corner of my eye, I see Fishlegs and Snotlout cast each other meaningful looks, but I choose to ignore them.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Alright." Geez, why am I suddenly so tired? I yawn, and Snot bites his lip. Everyone is really quiet. I really want to ask what's going on, but I decide not to. For the rest of the meal, I sit silently, exhausted, as Fishlegs and Snotlout converse quietly in the back, and the twins babble about Chicken. I can't wait until those two leave for their annual Thorston trip.

Finally, Sven excuses himself to go for a ride on Stormy, and the twins leave to do whatever the hell it is they do in their free time.

"Alright guys, what's going on?" Fishlegs starts at my sudden tone in voice, very jumpy today, and Snotlout simply meshes his lips together. "Come on."

"N- Nothing's going on Hiccup, w- why would you ask?" Snotlout elbows Fishlegs in the ribs.

"You two need to explain why there was broken glass by my desk, why Sven's acting so upset, and why you two have been acting like gossipy little girls the whole meal!" I pound my fist onto the table, a little harder than I meant to. Fishlegs blushes, and Snotlout bites his lip, putting his hand behind his head in embarrassment.

"Oh, you noticed all that?" I place my fingers on my brow.

"Yes, Snotlout, I'm not that stupid."

"Well, Hiccup, the broken glass we know nothing about," I see Fishlegs flash a quick glance at Snotlout, who nods swiftly. "Sven just had a bad night," Another glance, and another nod. "And we've been weird because.." Snotlout finishes for him.
