Alex started his first official day of class by squinting at his schedule, "I have... theatre? Why in the... why do I have theatre?"
"Heyo, roomie!" John knocked on the door and swung it open without an answer. Alex was still in his pajamas- boxers. He flushed deep red and froze.
John stood and stared, his gaze slowly trailing downward before he shook his head and realized what he was doing, "I-I'm so sorry! I'll just wait out here! Haha!" He ran away and slammed the door.
"Good god. Man needs to learn how to shut the door properly," Alex enjoyed scoffing at John's reaction as he pulled his clothing on. He stepped into the kitchen, scratching his neck, "Sorry you had to see that."
"Oh, don't worry about it, ba- bud! Ahaha! I'm gonna leave now!" John turned his red face away from Alex and practically leaped out the door.
"So weird," Alex shook his head and poured himself some coffee. Upon taking the first sip, he noticed a note on the counter. It had several things scratched off, most of which said Alex's name in different lettering. He picked it up and smiled into his mug. Maybe he was a little gay.

First period. Theatre.
Alex pushed open the door to the expansive room and looked around. John was sitting in the front row chatting with some familiar people. Alex plastered a smile on his face and made his way to them, "Hey, John!"
John stopped mid-sentence and turned his head toward Alex. His face went red under John's stare, not to mention the other men, both sitting on his right. He couldn't remember who exactly they were but he knew he remembered them from somewhere.
"You're... Alexander, correct?" The man on the very right asked. French.
"That's right! You're, uh, Lafayette! And Hercules!"
"How come he gets his last name but I don't?" Hercules smirked.
Alex's smile vanished and Hercules guffawed at him, "I'm kidding. Seriously. Good to see you again."
"Yeah," Alex smiled again and turned his attention to John who was still staring at him.
"You're in theatre?" He seemed utterly shocked.
"Yeah, you ran off without consulting my schedule," Alex dangled the paper in front of his face and John snatched it up.
"We have this class... and fourth together. That's it."
"But... we're also roommates," Alex took his schedule back.
"Yes. Your point?"
"I-" Alex simply shrugged, "Not sure. Is it cool if I sit here?"
"Have at it," John shrugged.
Alex sat and began rifling through his bag.
"What are you doing?" Lafayette asked, "Class is about to start."
"Yeah gimme a sec," Alex grunted, lifting his theatre notebook out. A small note slipped out but he grabbed it after only one pair of eyes saw it. John's. His face went deep red and he whispered to Alex, "What was that?"
"The note?"
"Y-yes!"
"I think you know very well what it is," Alex smirked at him. John's eyes twinkled as he smiled back, "I didn't think you'd care."
"John, of course I care about you," Alex gripped John's hand and locked eyes with him, "as a matter of fact, I'm-"
"Interrupting my class?" The teacher had taken her place on stage and shot the coldest glare at Alex. He ripped his hand away from John's and sat upright.
"Very well. You, up here," the teacher pointed next to her on the stage and Alex scrambled to join her on stage.
"Volunteer!" The teacher screeched.
A young woman a few rows behind John ran onto the stage with Alex.
"Introduce yourselves and then I'll give you your parts," she left the stage and sat uncomfortably close to John.
"I'm Eliza Schuyler!" The woman waved and smiled.
"Alexander Hamilton."
"You are to be lovers who are forbidden from seeing each other. Ever. Go."
Eliza cocked an eyebrow, "Isn't that Romeo and Ju-"
"ACT!"
John watched as they played out a scene, acting as they were told. He grew increasingly jealous. When they finished, everyone clapped. Except for John.
"How'd I do?" Alex smiled at John, "I think she might have a thing for me."
"Great. Just wonderful," John scowled as he grabbed his bag and stood up.
"Mr. Laurens! Class has not been yet dismissed!"
"I don't care," And with that, he disappeared through the door. Alex turned to shoot a questioning glance at Lafayette and Hercules but they were glaring at Eliza and murmuring to themselves.
After class, Alex found John and questioned him, "What was that?"
"You mean me leaving in the middle of class? I didn't feel good."
"Obviously. What's wrong with you?" It didn't come from Alex's mouth harshly, but gently. He actually cared. John let his shoulders slump but he shook his head.
"Don't... don't worry about it. See you in fourth, Ham."
Alex decided against stopping him and watched as he retreated into the crowd. His heart beat on with worry.
But for whom, he could not say.
