Chapter 5

I woke up in Austin's arms. I had forgot that I was in the hospital, so I tried sitting up, but my side hurt so bad.

I winced in pain trying not to wake up Austin, but he woke up once I laid back down.

"You ok babe?" Austin asked looking down into my eyes.

"Ya, I'm just really sore, and I wanted to shower." I said laying my head on his chest.

"I'll go get a nurse, to help you." Austin said rolling out if bed.

After about 5 minutes he walked back in with beautiful brown haired nurse.

"Austin told me you wanted a shower." The nurse said walking over to help me up.

She got my right side while Austin had my left. They walked me to the bathroom, Austin turned on the shower while the nurse took of the bandage covering my stitches.

"I'll need to put a water proof bandage over it. I'll be right back with that." she said walking out of the room.

I could see Austin staring at my stitches through the mirror. He walked up behind me wrapping his arms around my shoulders.

"I can't believe you didn't tell me that you where in this much pain. I thought you could tell me everything." he said as a tear rolled down his cheek and dropped on my shoulder.

"Austin I can tell you everything. I just knew that there was a lot of stress on you. With the move, Em being in the hospital. I just didn't want you to have even more stress. I'm sorry babe, please don't be mad." I said turning around to face him.

"Katie I'm not mad with you. I understand where your coming from. I just want you to know that you can trust me with anything and everything." He leaned down and kissed me lightly.

Knock Knock

The nurse walked back in the room with the bandage.

"This may hurt when I put this on." She said taking the wrapper off.

I winced in pain, finding Austin's hand move into mine. I tightened my hand as the nurse put on the bandages.

"Alright, they are all on. you can take a shower now. Once your done have Austin come and get me." she said walking out of the bathroom.

Austin helped ne into the shower. I started to wash my hair when I felt sick. I yelled for Austin as I was drying off.

"Babe are you ok?" Austin yelled running into the bathroom.

I leaned over the toilet and threw up.

"No will you please go get me sweatpants and a sweatshirt. Then get the nurse please?" I asked getting up to brush my teeth.

He rushed out of the room, got my clothes, then ran back out.

Austin ran back into the room with the nurse. They helped me back into bed.

The nurse went and got Dr. Smith, he wanted to run some tests before I went to bed.

He drew blood, ran some test I had no clue what they were for.

3 hours later

"Austin, Katie I have some bad news." Dr. Smith said walking into the room.

"We looked further into ur test and we found that you have cancer. That's why you have been so sick lately. I'm sorry Katie, but we want to start treatment right away so you wont be able to leave for a long time." he said letting it all land on me at once.

"Thank you, could you give us some time alone?" I asked him sliding down into bed.

I was in shock and scared. Austin came and crawled into my bed next to me.

He started to sing to me so I would calm down.

I've been beaten down,

I've been kicked around, 

But she takes it all for me. 

And I lost my faith, in my darkest days, 

But she makes me want to believe. 

He sang and rubbed my back, as I just cried into his chest.

"Katie everything is going to be ok. I promise. I love you Katie! I will be here 24/7 I will never leave your side." he said as tears started rolling down his rosy red cheeks.

"I love you too Austin." I said wiping away his tears.

I leaned up and kissed him, then slid back into my spot. Sleep soon over took my body.
