After a whole night of tossing and turning Jasmine woke up in a cold sweat. The only difference was that right now she had fallen asleep on her office table during her break. It wasn't unusual for her to fall asleep during a break or even wake up in a cold sweat, she was used to it so she knew how to deal with it now. She scanned her drawer for the white prescription bottle with her name on it before making her way to the toilet, making sure she wouldn't be seen.

Looking in the mirror she sighed as pieces of hair had began to stick to her forehead where she was sweating. She finger combed all those pieces back and splashed her face with cold water thanking god for waterproof mascara. She gently patted her face dry to avoiding messing up the rest of her makeup.

Having been on anti depressants on and off for two years she popped the pills without a second thought. At first the changes were clear as were the side affects, but now she wasn't sure if it was still working. It had become second nature to take those pills so maybe now it was just a placebo effect.

Even though it had been 6 years since that summer that changed her life forever, she would never forget. In fact, whenever she had to take those pills she'd remember a small piece of the summer memories that she had tried so hard to suppress. He was always In the back of her mind and though she wasn't still holding on to the thought of them ever seeing each other again, she couldn't help but think about him and what he was doing.

For a while she hated the thought of him and the thought of him being happy, without her. She couldn't stand the fact that he got closure by leaving her that letter and she didn't, but that was so draining to her. Hating someone was tiring and too time consuming and she had so many important things to think about now.

Regardless of whether medicine would help her it would always take her a while to adjust to the thought of taking anything. Having spent a whole year in rehab the last thing she wanted was to end up back in the same spot, she had way too much to live for now.

Straightening herself up she made her way back to her office and there she was greeted by Alex. Alex was a co-worker of hers but whenever she saw him she knew he wasn't there to talk about work, it seemed that flirting was his first occupation and he seemed to be good at it since he had all the other female employees falling at his feet. Then again it was understandable, his wavy black hair was always well taken care of, accompanied by the deepest hazel green eyes and gym body to go with it. It wasn't hard to to understand why all the ladies wanted him, just not Jasmine and that made him want her more.

"Alex" she said with a fake smile plastered on her face

"Jasmine, hear me out okay? Thursday evening, that new rooftop restaurant, you and me. What do you say?"

"Exactly the same thing I've said every time you've asked me out for dinner"

"You've got priorities at home I know, but you need a man in your life. Come on I'm trying to be the Aladdin to your Jasmine" she snorted trying to hold in her laughter

"Wow. That was extremely corny" she said through laughter

"You didn't like it? I thought women loved Disney references." He stared at the table reflecting on the line he just said

"Times like this I wish we had manager employee dating bans in place"

"Okay a week from today, Tuesday, next week. If you let me finally take you on a date I promise I won't ask again." She sighed but continued to type away on her computer not taking the time to look at him

"My house, 8pm and don't be late Alex"

"God that's so hot. I love an assertive woman" he said practically moaning
