Jamie nudged my elbow with her arm for the third time. I huffed looking at her.

"Come on Dove we need to go eat dinner" she said crossing her arms, she reminded me of a small child.

"I need to watch a minute longer" I exclaimed, pointing towards the laptop.

We were now watching Peter Pan and I really wanted to see the end.

"You have seen this movie a million times, get up!" she said grabbing my arms.

I reluctantly let her pull me into a sitting position. I climbed out of bed giving her a smirk before running out of the room and down the hall.

"Gosh, Im so sorry Miranda your daughter just wouldn't get off the stink'in laptop" I said sitting at the small kitchen table across from her.

"What!" yelled Jamie walking into the kitchen, "Mom It was Dove! You have to believe me, Im your only daughter!"

Miranda shook her head laughing silently. Jamie pouted well walking around to the chair on my right, plopping down.

Miranda had cooked us some chicken fingers and fry's. They were homemade and delicious, Miranda is an amazing cook and makes the best food you could ever imagine.

"My dear, how has summer break been?" She asked taking a sip of her water.

I swallowed sending a glance to Jamie, "My Dad, Xander, and Aidan left town for the summer so its just me and Elliot"

She send me a pity filled smiled. Miranda knew all about Elliot, she told me he was just grieving and needed time.

We continued dinner after that laughing and talking about old times.

After we all finished Jamie and I helped Miranda with the dishes, even though she kept telling us she had it handled, then walked back down the hall to Jamie's room laying on the bed.

"So what happened?" Jamie asked, her once joking face now serious.

I sighed running a hand through my hair.

"Elliot came home drunk" I started.

She sucked in breath grabbing  hand and giving it a squeeze.

"He told me it was my fault. He said that if I hadn't of been born then Mom would still be alive" my voice cracked towards the end.

"He said we needed more money, and he told me that I wasted money we could have used towards moms medical bills. It's my fault Jamie! Its all my fault! Im a disappointment to my family, Im a waste of air! I miss her J! I just want my mom" I sobbed, covering my face with my hands.

I seem to be crying a lot lately.

Jamie was quick to wrap her arms around me. She hugged me tight telling me it wasn't my fault, that I'm not a disappointment. I cried harder, my tears soaking through her shirt.

Jamie pulled back from the hug looking at me, "Dove Winters you are not a disappointment to your family, you hear me? It was not your fault that your mother died, it was nobody's fault but that stupid cancer."

I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand, looking at Jamie. She had a stern look on her face, letting me know she was serious about everything she was saying.

"Say it" She demanded.

I looked at her confused.

"Im not a disappointment, say it Dove" she said.

I gaped at her for a few seconds, not knowing what to say. Jamie squeezed my hands tighter, more demanding.

"I-I not a disappointment" I stuttered.

She shook her head, "Say it like you mean it"

"Im not a disappointment" I said, "Im not a disappointment"

I repeated it over and over each time becoming more stern.

"Im not a disappointment!"I yelled out.

I slapped my hand over my mouth, my cheeks turning red.

Jamie had a smile on her face and she soon started to laugh. She laughed so hard her face became red as she grabbed her stomach. I started to laugh with her, both of us laughing like there was no tomorrow.

Did I mention my best friend was the greatest?
