I giggled as I watched Cahya prance around the gardens like a small girl. She looked extremely uncomfortable, for it was Blake who was using his mind control and forcing his younger sister to do silly things that normally she wouldn't do.

He was standing right next to me, his arms crossed and an expression of concentration on his face, but he was grinning freely as he made Cahya do whatever he wanted against her will. Finally he released her from his control and she stumbled to the ground mid-dance. Cahya looked up from the ground and yelled, "I'm going to kill you, Blake!"

He laughed and turned to me. "Mind control has its perks," he said. "Except when your life is in danger by your sister."

"I can explode your organs any day," Cahya scoffed, getting up to her feet and brushing off dirt from her leather pants. She walked over to us and gently punched her brother in the arm, and he visibly winced.

"Okay, little lightning girl, enough talk, show us what can do." I rolled my eyes at the pushy princess. Honestly, she made me nervous. I didn't wanna her to judge me by my abilities, since she was definitely much more experienced than me. Blake noticed my uneasiness and smiled encouragingly at me.

"From what I've heard, you can do amazing things. Show us," he said.

I stood back a little and put my hands out in front of my chest. As I slowly concentrated, my hands warmed and sparks flew between my palms. My eyes opened, and all I saw was white as the energy coursed through my fingertips. Purple shots of lightning danced all over my arms and all I heard was the static electricity.

"Okay, Blake, we get it, you can stop staring now," I heard Cahya say bluntly, which zapped me out of my concentration. The lightning between my hands dissolved into thin air, and all that was left was the heat.

"I wasn't staring," Blake said defensively, but I brushed it off by smiling at him. Cahya, on the other hand, rolled her eyes.

"That was amazing, Violet," Blake said, stepping closer to me. "I've never seen anything like it." He took my hands curiously and examining them as if they were magical tools. I slowly withdrew my hands back and scratched the back of my head.

"Come on, we're gonna be late for dinner," I said, waving them over. We all walked to the dining hall and sat to eat. The royal servants brought out our meals and placed them in front of us before leaving silently. I was sitting next to Mauve and Solaman, across from Cahya, with Alex at the head of the table.

Alex had been very cold to me lately and I wonder why. We never talk as much as we used to, and whenever we did he would always be short and curt to me. It started to annoy me, but most of all I was confused. I was pretty sure I didn't do anything wrong, after all.

I made a mental note to talk to Arian when I got the chance. The king has been acting ridiculous to me for the past few days since the Helenbore royals came. It was really getting to me. Maybe Alex'a brother can talk sense into him

"So, Alexander, I was thinking, why not have a spar before we leave? I think it would be great to see how far along Mauve has come." I looked up and saw Blake talking to Alex, who looked back at the black-blood with something else I couldn't pinpoint. But it looked like annoyance.

"Sure, we can do it in two days. We'll have the knights join us too," Alex finally said, almost grudgingly. Blake nodded happily. Alex focused back to his dinner plate, the rest of us following suit.

I heard a small laugh come and I looked up to the scene in front of me. Cahya and Arian were sitting close to each other, lost in conversation. Azuraq sat next to Arian with his face twisted in annoyance at the pair. That's odd. Azuraq and I made eye contact and I raised a questioning brow, and he rolled his eyes over at Cahya. I smiled, but more so at the fact that for once me and Azuraq weren't at each other's heads when eye contact was made.
