VIOLET'S POV
The past few weeks went by rather quickly. Alex and Arian seemed to be talking more often, which was nice. My mother fell ill just a few days later and passed, so we all grieved together.
Arianelle had a very beautiful funeral while my mother didn't have one at all. That was the way between the rich and the poor.
It was now time to deal with the famine and illnesses that always hit the towns during these frigid months. I sat in my own office, working on the applications from the blue-bloods to work in the palace.
The door opened and in walked a very happy Alex.
"Hello, my love," he said adoringly, offering me his hand and bowing. I giggled and gave him my hand, pretending with him.
Why hell—oh!" I yelled as he pulled me from my chair and spun me around him. He placed me back down against the desk, now chest to chest with each other.
"What's all this about?" I asked, giggling. He kissed me ravishingly.
"Because I love you," he said stepping even closer. "I hate they gave you your own office. They're keeping my eye candy away from me, I shall have them banished."
I laughed as he nuzzled his nose into my neck, leaving a trail of hasty kisses.
"Hey, hey. I am not your eye candy," I protested.
"Hmm, you're right. You're my wife," he said, kissing me passionately. When we parted I could see it. The want in his eyes.
"Oh, no, no. Not Here. Not now," I said, hastily pushing his chest off of me. He groaned and collapsed on my shoulder. "Maybe later, but come on, my office? How trashy," I said, teasing him.
"Fine. But I will find you later, you can be sure of it."
I rolled my eyes at him. "Uh huh." I turned him around and forcibly pushed him out of my office, ignoring his complaining. After he gave me a final kiss and left, I decided to go to the arena to watch the knights train and visit Mauve.
I quickly braided my hair back and put on my own combat gear and headed to the arena. When I walked in I took on a different persona. I strutted in with my hands fisted and I felt more confident.
Solaman took notice of my presence and bowed to me.
"Oy! You are all in the presence of a royal!" Solaman yelled to the boys who were fighting. They all bowed, some rolling their eyes. I sent jolts to the few that rolled their eyes and felt satisfied as they yelped.
"Watch your attitudes boys," I warned. They nodded their heads, rubbing the places I shocked them.
"Continue!" Solaman yelled, sending the boys back to fighting. "What can I do for you Violet?" she asked, walking up to me.
"I just thought I'd come and observe. Where's my brother?" I asked.
She pointed towards the a smaller arena that was used for one on one sparring. My brother was in the area with a smaller, younger boy. He had black short hair and pale skin. A blue blood, maybe.
Mauve was down on his knees, blocking moves from him. The scene warmed me as it reminded me of when I was younger and Mauve would teach me how to fight against people who treated us like trash, considering that we were purples.
"Mauve!" I yelled, catching his attention. The younger boy used Mauve looking over at me to his advantage and tackled him. Mauve went down with a startled shout.
The boy stood up triumphantly and cheered to Solaman. Solaman nodded her head approvingly as Mauve grabbed his legs and brought him down.
"Sky! You can never let your guard down! Rookie mistake!" Solaman yelled to the young boy. Mauve helped the boy up and, after making sure he was alright, went over to me. He swung his legs over the fence, jogging over and hugging me.
