For weeks, I have done nothing but train while the counterattack weapon is built. I refused to relax enough to let my guard down, especially because it's time for our attack. We've worked hard for this day, and now that it's finally here, I'm prepared.
"Will, remember the plan. We can't be watching you the entire time, so be careful." Kevin warned me through the screen in the XK-01. I guess they were worried that I wouldn't stick with the plan.
"Affirmative."
"Did you really understand, Will? You've been anxious for this day for weeks... We're worried about you," Alicia said as her face popped up in my screen.
I glanced at them as I said, "it's not a problem. I understand the plan and how crucial this mission is."
As if still doubting me, their faces disappeared from my screen. Almost immediately, our machines were dropped out of the large plane, dropping over 14,000 feet to the ground. After a couple of minutes, the parachutes ignited, letting us land safely to the ground.
For a few minutes, it was silent. No sound. No movements of any kind. It almost seemed peaceful, until shots were fired. Using the XK-01 made it really easy for us to track the shooters, killing them just as easily. There were no complications until a large machine walked out from a sort of building. The machine was black , similar to the XK-01, only it's weapon was one I've never seen in my lifetime before.
"Well. Well. If it isn't the son of Damien Ashton, himself. Look at you now." A familiar voice echoed through the machine, freezing me in place. It can't be... Can it?
"Will, who is that?!" Alicia asked, pulling out her weapons as her face appeared once again on my screen,
I stayed silent as I stared at the machine in front of me. I switched frequencies on my machine in order to speak to him, letting my voice echo out to the world around me. "I thought you were dead. You should have died in that bus!"
Valdez laughed before saying, "why on earth would you think that? Your father isn't the only hard man to kill." He began to fire his weapon which didn't look like it did much at first. As soon as I tried to attack him, it backfired.
"What is this?" I asked, switching back to the other frequency. "What kind of weapon is that?"
"It's a dangerous one, Will. Be careful when approaching it," Kevin warned. "Is this really the Leviathan?"
"Focus, boys! Stick to the plan!" Alicia shouted as she charged, aiming her plasma like sword up at the machine. The scientists had informed us that the sword may not look like much, but the plasma itself is very destructive. One slice from it could cause major issues for any machine.
Alicia managed to scratch the machine, but for some reason, it still wasn't enough to damage it. As I watched the fight carefully, I began to realize something very important. If that truly is the Leviathan, is it possible that the more it uses that strange power, the longer it takes for it to recharge?
"I think I know it's weakness!" I shouted, bringing the other's back on my screen. "Have you two been aware that with every attack you've made, that machine reacts a little slower than it's last defense? I've been watching it for a while, and I believe if you keep it under constant attack, we may put it to a point where it would need to refuel."
"Whatever, let's give it a shot!" Kevin shouted, attacking the machine once again with a gun. I got out a specially made weapon. It's a type of gun, but it's capability measures very similar to Alicia's weapon.
"Will, you're good to go!" Alicia shouted out to me.
I fired the weapon, impatiently waiting to see the results.
