"Alright. I was taken into the guerrillas as an infant and have been a member ever since. I was recently added into the Military after getting captured and discovering the truth of my past."
The young boy whimpered a bit before beginning to cry. I covered his mouth with my hand, knowing that he could blow our cover.
"Stay quiet and we will escape safely," I told the young boy. "What's the child's name?"
Tim L. Peterson comforted the child before saying, "this boy is my son, Zac. He's only two years old and doesn't like the sounds of a gun fire."
"I can understand that, but he needs to stay silent until we locate the door. Please keep him silent," I told him. I ran through the corridor, being careful not to be spotted by the enemy until I located a large metal door. Mr. Peterson was right behind me and confirmed that this was the door.
I examined the door, expecting it to be locked. I silently cursed under my breath as I realized I was correct. "Stay here and don't move."
I was about to run back when a familiar laugh. I shook my head no, knowing that it wasn't possible. Yet, the proof was standing right behind me.
"William, you didn't think you could get rid of me that easily, now did you?" Damien said with a large cat like grin. "Your skills have been improving thanks to the military, but I still have to kill you."
I glared at him, knowing that I couldn't fight with Mr Peterson and his son at risk. "I thought you were dead. How did you survive the crash?" I asked him.
He shrugged, "because of you, my dear friend lost his life in that helicopter. Here's a note to remember, next time, destroy all of your enemies supplies in order to kill them. I taught you that when you were only four years old."
"You also taught me not to see the wrong in killing a man. You killed my father, imprisoned my mother, and used me for your own gain. I was never your son and I'm ashamed to be associated with you. No matter where I go, people look at me with such a strong hatred because they think your blood runs in my veins."
Zac watched the fight with tears in his eyes once again. He could sense the strong aura of hatred in the air and didn't like it. His father comforted the child before running off to find the key. It is my duty to return them safely back to headquarters, but I may need some back-up with this man. No matter what I do, he never seems to die on his own.
"That is because I raised you. You were my loyal son which is why you can never kill me. Even if I murdered your weak, pathetic father in one of our missions, you will never have the strength to murder the man who has kept you alive since infancy," he said. "Would you like to know how I killed your real father? He died protecting you and your mother. I shot him through the heart as he tried to buy your mother time to run away. I still remember the face he made as life left his body. Full of rebellion just like you," he said as he aimed his gun. "It's a shame that I really have to kill you. Especially after all those years I spent pushing you to your limits in training."
I aimed my gun for him and fired. We fired at each other, ducking behind corners in order to dodge the others attacks. I was shot at my side and grazed on my arm before I heard more footsteps running towards us. I prayed it was some more of my fellow soldiers. It was to my relief that it was indeed Kevin, Alicia, and another team of soldiers coming to my aid.
"William, we're here to help!" Kevin shouted as he began shooting. He had a smile on his face as we all continued firing at Damien.
When Damien was down, I used my strength to limp over to him. He was shot in both legs and one arm, but didn't hesitate to pull out a knife. He scratched my eye before someone shot his arm. I closed my eye and wiped away the stream of blood from my face, knowing the wound wasn't as deep as it may look. "Who is killing who exactly? The next time I see you, it better be in the depths of hell." Knowing full well that the others were watching me, I aimed the gun at his heart as he smiled.
