After Kruv told his siblings at dinner about what had transpired that afternoon, he was called in by his father to the office, as expected.

The office was a room, it wasn't that big like how their bedrooms are, but it wasn't that small either. As Kruv went inside, his father was still looking at a book and reading the contents with a very serious face despite hearing the creaking sounds of the door opening and closing.

His father, aside from going somewhere every day in the dead of night, would always be in this room. Kruv felt that he was always doing something important and urgent as every time he comes out of the room, he always looks exhausted and his face, even though he smiles when he sees him, still had a tinge of worry in it.

Kruv waited in front of his father's table as he looked around a bit. The office was a place that was very important to his father, he could tell that by the fact that this was actually only the second time he has been allowed in here.

The office was surrounded by books, three large shelves of books which are neatly placed at the back and to the sides of the room. There was also a light bulb which was very bright, kinda like how bright the training ground was.

Kruv father, Daemyn finally moved his attention away from the book and towards his son. Daemyn looked like he was in his early 30's. He had white skin yet not as pale as Kruv's, he had black hair that reached his shoulders, and he also had a bit of similarities with his son, like his thin red lips, long pointed nose, thick eyebrows, and eyes that could intimidate a person except his' were blue instead of gray.

Daemyn smiled at his son and then motioned him to sit down on the chair across him.

"How was your day?" Daemyn asked

"It was, um, productive."

"Kruv, you're 8 now so there's something you need to know. What you are going to hear may sound a little strange but it is also exciting."

Kruv listened carefully. Excitement, that was one thing he was kind of waiting from this new world.

"I'm ready to hear it."

Daemyn chuckled a bit as he can see and hear the excitement of his son in his voice "Alright, so I think you've read some books on animals, normal animals, right?"

"Yes."

"So you know that the animals in this forest we are in are not normal animals but stronger than normal animals which makes them a dark beast."

"Right." Kruv nodded.

"Up until now, you've only fought small dark beasts. Rank 1 dark beasts."

"Ranks? There are ranks  to them?" Kruv asked

"Of course there are, its the same as with normal animals. A predator will always have a prey and a prey will always have a predator."

Kruv thought about how that didn't apply to the animal kingdom alone.

"There are 7 ranks to dark beasts, each rank stronger than the oth-." Daemyn continued

"How strong are rank 7 dark beasts?" Kruv interrupted before Daemyn could even finish his sentence

"Haha." Daemon laughed "You sure are excited but you'd have to wait. You don't need to know that for now."

"Eh?"

"Okay, moving on, so you should have read about how dark beasts are made, right?"

"Yeah, they absorb this thing called world energy which gives them power."

"That's right. So world energy is the essence of the world, kind of a gift to us creatures from the gods or even the world itself, anything you can think of." Daemyn explained gently "Now, world energy, as I said is a gift to us, so not only animals can benefit from it. Do you get what I'm trying to say?"

"That humans can also gather world energy into their body?"

"Excellent answer. Humans can indeed gather world energy into their body and become stronger just like the animals."

Kruv felt astonished. In his past life, there was nothing like this or even something similar to it. He was fast and strong but he has never thought he could take down an elephant or even a big lion. Even just the thought of that was crazy yet now it was possible, it was possible to break through the limit of the humans from his past world.

"but.. there's a catch." Daemyn quickly added as Kruv listened to him attentively.

"Humans have these powers, which we call innate abilities. Every human is different. Some have better innate abilities than others and some even have useless ones. Innate abilities are also ranked based on how powerful it is and its potential." Daemyn shifted in his seat a little bit then continued "The ranks are s,a,b,c,d. Some have the same power, some have the same power yet different variations of it which could affect its ranking. For example, someone controlling water, at anywhere, anytime, in a very powerful way could very well be ranked as a rare S class while another could control water yet could only throw water balls which is very useless and be ranked as a c or even d class."

Kruv felt mind boggled at all the information. He thought about that lightning, perhaps that was his innate ability. He grinned 'What a cool world and a great innate ability to have'. He suddenly felt powerful, free, joyful, and very thrilled.

"Now everyone can cultivate but lower rank innate abilities would stop improving at some point. Like how a cooking innate ability would never reach as high as what someone with the power of like, um, manipulation which is very useful for combat."

Kruv felt grateful, cooking ability, he felt that it good but if he had that he would possibly just lock himself up in his room and wait to die.

"Everyone's supposed to awaken their ability at 8 years old, so have you felt anything at all these last few weeks?" Daemyn asked waiting for an answer. The look on his face was of someone who really wanted to know.

"I have."

"What it is? Have you grasp it?."

"I think it's lightning." Kruv answered with a smile on his face

Daemyn frowned but if one weren't watching close enough then they wouldn't see it as he smiled directly after "That's good, tomorrow we're going somewhere, you need to go to sleep to rest now."

Kruv stood and said goodbye. He was happy as they were going to finally go somewhere tomorrow, yet he was also perplexed. He saw it, his father looked a bit disappointed when he said his innate ability was thunder.

He put it at the back of his head. He was just happy learning all those new things today. This world, he felt like, was going to be more special than his previous one.
