(Finally! I did it! Yes, it starts out the same, don't judge! Also, please don't mix this up with the real story, I like the real one better...)

Zim's POV~

I understood the text perfectly. I stopped what I was doing and ran. I stepped outside, only to be greeted with an icy wind. I ran back in and dug through my closet. I finally found my uniform. I had forgotten I owned it.
It had long sleeves so it'd be warmer. I quickly changed into it before running out again with Gir at my heels. I ignored the fact that he appeared put of no where and ran faster.
"Gir! Track the human- uh... Dib's location!"
"Yes sir!" He was actually helping for once. "Location achieved!"
     "Take me there at once!"
Gir saluted and picked me up. He flew much faster then I could ever run.
In a matter of minutes, we reached a river. Water crashed over the edge. I jumped quickly to avoid it.
"Why Dib? Why a fucking river!?" I yelled.
     "Master...?"
     "What?"
"Look...!" Gir pointed to the bank of the river. I could slightly see a body half out of the water.
"Go" I stated simply, though he understood quickly.
Gir flew over, he retrieved the body and brought it to me.
     Just as I thought.
"Dib..." I whispered. I could hear the water sloshing around inside of him.
I know I learned SOMETHING in skool that could help him! But what...?
    Then it hit me.
I pushed his stomach up and down in an attempt to push up the water.
After a few tries I heard him cough. Water fell out of his mouth. I was careful to avoid it.
He looked up at me with tired eyes.
     "Zim...?"

~Dib's POV~

He saved me? No way! I thought he hated me!
I quickly realized that I was staring at him.
"S-sorry!" I said, though it wasn't very loud since I was fairly weak after my... ahem... failed "suicide attempt".
"You scared the shit outta me! You should be sorry!" He yelled.
     "You were worried...?"
     "Of course I was worried!"
     "Seriously...?"
He grinned "you're such a fucking idiot"
I grinned back "hey... language...!" I tried repeating what I had said to him months ago.
     "You dork!" He laughed.
"So... can we go home now?"
     "Mhm!" He stood up.
     "Can you maybe... carry me...?
     "Why?"
I smiled sarcastically "oh, I don't know... maybe because... I just tried to drown myself you dumbass!"
"Hey, language!" He mimicked my voice pretty well.
     "Shut it!" I laughed.
"Welp, c'mon!" He picked me up bridal style, I don't know why, but hey, I'm not complaining.
"Can I have a ride too master" I heard Gir say from behind me.
"No Gir, you can fly" he responded plainly.
"Oh yeah!" Gir immidatly flew up into the sky.
We both stayed silent for a moment before laughing.
"Typical" I said, my voice slowly returning to it's normal volume.
The rest of the walk was completly silent. Silence was exactly what we both needed after that hell of an experience.
When we reached my house, he set me down my the door before turning away.
     "Wait!" I called.
He hummed in response and stopped walking.
"How about you stay at my house tonight?" I glanced at the sky, which was getting darker as I spoke.
     "Will your family mind?"
"Oh please, they couldn't care less about me!" I smiled sadly at my own comment
"Well... ok then!" He turned around and walked back towards me.
We both walked inside and closed the door behind us.
I looked at the couch to see Gaz sitting there, I looked away.
"Ugh, it's you" I heard her say.
     "Um... y-yeah..." I whispered.
     "Why are you even here?"
     "This is my house...?"
"Yeah, but no one wants you here! You're crazy and useless!"
Through all that, she never looked up from her game.
I looked beside me, expecting to see Zim, but he wasn't there. I looked back at the couch to see him standing in front of Gaz.
"You have no right to treat him like that" he said calmly.
     "Piss off" she growled.
He smiled "I'm sorry, what?" he grabbed her game right out of her hands.
     "What the-!? Give it back!"
     "Apolagize"
"I'm not apologizing to that piece of garbage!"
"Sorry, what I meant to say was... fucking apolagize to him you little bitch or I'll break this shitty game right before eyes and you'll be powerless to stop me" he smiled creepily.
"Wow..." I whispered. I didn't know he had this side to him.
     "No way" she hissed.
"Wrong answer!" He cheered. He dropped the game onto the ground and stomped on it as hard as he could.
CRACK
The sound seemed to echo through the house.
"Oh, and don't even TRY to hurt me" he pulled out a small knife and held it to her throat.
He quickly pulled it away "c'mon Dib!" He grabbed my hand and walked upstairs and into my room.
As soon as the door was closed I looked at him.
     "Why'd you do that?"
     "What?"
     "Stand up for me!"
"Because you deserve better then that shit!"
Suddenly, I smiled, a huge smile. The only huge smile in my life that hadn't been at all forced.
All because of Zim. He meant the world to me. He was someone I could trust to have my back and stand up for me. No, I can't get rid of my anxiety for good, but he gives me a break from it.
"Hey guess what?" I asked childishly.
     "What?" He tilted his head.
"I love ya!" I said even more childishly before I pulled him into a hug.
"Love ya too" he said softly as he hugged back.
"Would you call this real love?" I asked without letting go.
     He laughed quietly.
     "True love" he corrected.

I agree, true love...
