Halloween Special

(As promised! A oneshot for a holiday! It's bad... sorry... Note: I'm still in love with this highschool au thing so this'll take place after the story!)

~Dib's POV~

     I sighed quietly while wandering around the skool building.
     "Why me...?" I whispered quietly to myself.
     The bell rang. Within a few seconds, the hallway was crowded with students.
     I avoided everyone even though they couldn't see or touch me.
     It'd been been months since my death. I truly regretted it.
     Gir is actually able to see me, though I don't know why... Gir told me about the diary entry mistake.
     In short...
     I.
     Fucked.
     Up.
     I felt like an idiot honestly.
     I looked around the halls. Halloween decorations were scattered here and there but nothing fancy.
     "Oh yeah... it's Halloween..." I murmured. I guess that explained why everyone was dressed up.
     "MOVE IT!" I heard someone yell frantically.
     "Zim...?" I smiled slightly, he sounded oddly concerned. He pushed through everyone. I noticed a nervous smile on his face.
     He usually had a large, forced smile, but right now he looked worried.
     He raced out of skool and I followed after him.
     Gir started flying beside me.
     "HIYA!" he yelled.
     Zim stopped running, he looked at Gir.
     "Who are you talking to?" He tilted his head.
     Gir opened his mouth to speak.
     "Shh!" I put my finger over my mouth to shush him
     He nodded before looking at Zim.
     "No one master!"
     "Then who said "shh"?" He asked.
     I gasped. He could hear me!?  
     "No way...!" I whisper yelled.
     "That voice sounds familiar" Zim said. More to himself rather then me.
     "It does!? I mean... I do? R-really?" I mentally slapped myself for my stutter.
     "Hm... nervous, high pitched, stuttering...? Heh... sounds like Dib...!" He smiled sadly.
     "You still remember me!?" I practically yelled.
     "Remember you? You're not Dib, he died!"
     "Yeah... I really wish I didn't..."
     "Prove that you're really him!" He narrowed his eyes, though he wasn't looking at me. Probably because he couldn't see me.
     I cleared my throat "You used to be my bully before you became my friend and eventually lover then I thought you betrayed me when you didn't because of a stupid diary entry then I drowned myself and I feel like an idiot and... and I... I..." I started to cry and lost my words.
     "And I'm sorry..." I whispered.
     "It's... ok...!" He responded.
     "No, it's not ok! I'm foolish and idiotic! I'm so sorry!" I started crying.
     "I'm sorry too... I shouldn't of betrayed your trust..."
     The sun was starting to go down, but we didn't care. We just walked to his house while talking. By the time we got there (since we made a lot of random stops along the way) it was dark.
     I looked down at myself and suddenly gasped. I wasn't see through or glowing anymore. I looked... normal?
     "What the...?"
     "What?" Zim asked. He turned around and gasped as well. "No way!"
     "You... can see me?" I asked cautiously. I hesitated before placing my hand on his shoulder.
     My hand didn't go through him.
     I smiled suddenly. I jumped forward and hugged him. He hugged me back.
     I heard something fall to the ground behind me. I let him go and looked. I saw that a small knife had fallen out of my pocket. I picked it up silently.
     Zim leaned forward and whispered in my ear.
     "You really want that?"
     He nodded.
     "Are you sure? It'll hurt a bit..."
     He nodded again.
     "Well... ok then..." I help the knife up slightly. He held out his hand.
     I didn't want to do this, but he said it was fine.
     I sighed before pressing the blade down and carving a simple design on his wrist.
     He didn't even flinch.
     "There" I said calmly.
     We both walked inside and talked for the rest of the night.
     After a few hours, Zim fell asleep.
     I was a ghost, and there for didn't sleep. After a few more hours the sun began to rise. As the sunlight hit my body I noticed I was see through again.
     "Damn it..." I muttered.
     "Bye bye!" Gir yelled from behind me.
     "Goodbye..." I said, though it was mostly directed towards Zim.
     I walked out without looking back.

~Zim's POV~

     I woke up to Gir watching TV and Dib gone.
     "Figures" I sighed.
     I looked down at myself, I had called asleep on the floor.
     How embarrassing.
     My eyes trailed down towards my wrist.
     I smiled.
     "At least I know I wasn't dreaming"
     On my wrist a simple thing was carved. Oh, what was it?
     Simple.
     A heart.
