Donna was feeling extremely nervous, this was her first time doing a performance this big in five years. Ever since the doctor had handed her her beautiful baby Ava Michelle Cattenach. who was 2.7kg and a tiny blue-eyed bawling bundle of joy, Donna had channelled all her energy into being there for every single step of her child's life. But when Mikey had called and told her that the singer he had booked for the grand opening for his hotel had cancelled, she couldn't say no, even if it meant travelling all the way to France. He had helped her throughout her pregnancy and he was one of her closest friends, besides that, Ava was safe with Benjie.

She could hear the voices of the hundreds of people talking in the main hall, her heart started to beat a little faster, mostly because she was so anxious to wow them, but a little out of excitement as well. She heard a voice call her to the front and she took a deep breath and checked herself in the mirror one more time before heading out.

Ronald was sitting at a private table and tapping his fingers irritatedly on the table. He did not want to be here, but his mother-in-law had insisted he come, rather she'd or-elsed him. Diedra was sitting next to him and she looked beautiful as always, her Latin heritage meant she had gorgeous curves and soulful brown eyes that could almost pierce into your soul. He cared for her, he always had, but he didn't lover her, he never could.

Sighing deeply he took a gulp of his whiskey and lazily cast his eyes around the room, glancing at all the tables flooded with people whose only depth lay in their pockets causing him to smirk sardonically. His eyes continued to roam, they cruised over the grandiose decor of the room, towards the stylish uniforms of the stuck-up waiters, who looked like waddling penguins, and across the stage where the singer was getting set up, towards-

He nearly choked when his eyes  boomeranged back to the stage. The woman who was dressed in a peacock green plunging neckline dress, which  served to highlight her sumptuous peaks, the woman whose hair cascaded down her milky shoulders all the way to the gentle curve of her well-rounded bottom was the one and only Donna Cattenach; the only woman he had ever and would ever love. Five years had changed nothing, she still made his pulse quicken and his body yearn for her touch, after all these years. Just like it had been, if not stronger. He had often wondered how long he would love her, but he now knew the answer. Always.

When Ava finally got the nod from Mikey who was seated in the front row she smiled at him and moved to the centre of the stage she heard the crowd grow quieter. She decided to quickly scan the crowd to make herself feel a little more comfortable and quickly regretted it when her eyes landed on piercing deep blue eyes. It was as if there had been a magnet that had drawn her to him. But she shouldn't be surprised, that was the way it had always been with them, this time however, aside from the obvious attraction, she also felt an overwhelming sense of dread. What if he found out about her?
