A Rose for You

Chapter 15

Lily's POV

Lily walked to her locker looking forward to another dreary day. However, today, dreary was out of the question. She noticed a tight group of students and pushing for a better view, Lily saw Trevor and Regina. She started backing away until she heard Trevor saying, "It's final Regina. I am breaking up with you and this time we are not getting back together.".

Lily immediately turned towards them to see the drama. Trevor seemed stressed as if he was incredibly uncomfortable, Regina on the other hand was crying, mascara and eyeliner streaming down her cheek.

"What happened!! I thought we were going strong! Tell me what I did wrong! Trev! Trevor please..." Regina screamed.

By then Trevor had left and was speedily moving towards chem.

In class, Lily sat in her seat next to Trevor. Very convenient. Her heart was beating faster than usual and a tiny seed of hope had been sown in her heart.

"Today's class we will be doing an assignment in pairs" announced the teacher, Mr. Fitzbert, with a huge smile on his face.

"Everyone will partner up with the person you're sitting next to".

Wonderful. Trevor just went through a breakup and now I'm the first one to talk to him... Great. Just great.

"Umm so Trevor, what acid is that in your hand?" asked Lily, hoping to get the assignment going.

"It's hydrochloric acid, diluted." replied Trevor, impassively.

Just saying his name bought fireworks within me.

"So... Great I guess we need to put in this magnesium powder" continued Lily awkwardly.

"Umm ya I think thats right"

As such their conversation continued getting awkward and weird when all of a sudden the bell rang.

"Class you will continue this next class, for now leave the apparatus as it is."

Breathing a sigh of relief Lily picked up her bag to leave when she noticed Trevor had already left.

He probably wanted to get rid of me as quick as he could...
