It's been 14 years since the death of my brother and his wife, and almost as long since Sirius, Remus, and I have hung out and had fun. So the day before Halloween I decided to make a trip to Grimmauld Place to have some fun.
I teleported to Grimmauld Place, my powers keep advancing I can now move from one place to another in no time at all. When I arrived I changed my appearance so I would look completely unrecognizable, of course I let Remus know so he wouldn't try to kill me. I walked in the door straight to the kitchen and just started spouting off stuff that made me seem like I didn't even belong there. Like "I've lived next door all my life and never knew this was here" and started speaking what little Spanish I know. Sirius starts flipping out and raises his wand to attack, I lift my hand and flick my wrist and pin him against the wall, "Wow Sirius, no warning, really. I know it's been a while but I thought you would remember your manners, or perhaps take into account James' baby sister is back," I shake my head and slowly start turning back to my regular self, "and loves to play pranks just like you."
The three of us sit at the kitchen table catching up, I told them how I had told off Severus at the beginning of the term, they stared at me awestruck and surprised that he allows me there still. Ever since then me and Severus have been working together just fine, actually I think he's gained some respect for me, but I would never tell them that I doubt they would understand.
They tell me it's been a long time since they've heard from Hagrid, he went to speak with the Giants and should have been back a long time ago, and that Madam Maxime is already back.
After hours of catching up I decided to go ahead and stay the night and we would have more fun tomorrow, after all Halloween is perfect for playing tricks.
Remus went out to get us some butterbeer, I can't remember the last time I had butterbeer. As me and Sirius were sitting in the kitchen waiting for Remus to come back, Sirius pipes up, "Well are we going to talk about what happened over the summer, or are you just going to ignore me forever."
I said, "Well that was my original plan. You know me, I never like addressing the elephant in the room. But in all honesty I don't have anything more to say. Yes I am sorry for dumping that on you, I know how close you were with my family."
"Jamie, I have been waiting a long time, most of it due to being in Azkaban for 12 years, but that's irrelevant at the moment, for you to realize that I am the one you been waiting for. You're it for me, I fell in love with you the moment I stepped off that train. I didn't know what all you had been through, James talked about you constantly when we were in school, Jamie this, Jamie that, he was so proud of you. And yes I do respect your parents and feel good in saying I still do even though they put you through all that, because they took me in when I had nowhere else to go. Did I lose some respect for them yes, but the fact you didn't want that to effect how I feel about them tells me it's ok to still feel this way about them."
Before I could say anything, before I could blink, he grabbed me around the waist, pulled me in, and kissed me, with the passion of 14 plus years of waiting to do so.
When we finally pull apart we hear a little clapping, it was Remus, "And how long have you been standing there."
"Long enough, I couldn't bring myself to interrupt."
The three of us headed up to bed probably close to 4 in the morning, to our individual bedrooms of course. The next day we decorated the house in all sorts of decorations that for Halloween. I introduced them to a Mexican tradition I had learned when I was living back in the states called Dia de Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, to honor James and Lily and as a sort of remembrance to all the witches, wizards, and muggles who had died in the first Wizarding war. We spent the entire day playing pranks on eachother and I made pumpkin pie and apple pie, because I hate pumpkin, and we just laughed and talked as if no time had passed at all.
