•Lacey's POV•
It had been a little over a month since the disappearance of Mason. I had been holding up pretty well.
I moped around for a few days but eventually concluded that moping around wasn't going to bring him back.
Everything around me reminded me of him. I felt like I was going crazy without him. I guess that's what happens when the guy you've known and loved for 12 years suddenly disappears.
Everyone did their level best to try amd cheer me up but I definitely didn't miss the looks of sympathy that I got when they thought I wasn't looking.
Sympathy is something I utterly hated. Every single time something bad happens, people give you their sympathies as if that's going to help you.
Don't get me wrong, I love that they're trying to help me but sympathy makes me feel weak. And that's something I no longer tolerate.
I am currently in my car on my way to the mall. I've decided that I deserve to spoil myself after all the crap that's been going on.
I drove around the parking lot of the mall in search of a space. Finally, I spotted one but I wasn't the only one who had their eyes on it.
The car in front of front of me revved like a lion. I revving back in response but my little car sounded more like the purr of a cat.
We both started off towards the space but the other driver backed away when I nearly bumped into him. I smirked at him triumphantly as I got out of my car. His hood was pulled up so I couldn't see his face other than his lips which were also lifted into a smirk.
I was a little confused as to why he was smirking but I shrugged it off. I walked in and walked slowly as I examined the place. I decided to go to Tips and toes first.
"Welcome to Tips and Toes. My name is Amy. How may I help you?" a joyful voice came as I entered.
"Hi-"
"My word dear. You're hair is so long! How do you manage with it?" Amy cut me off looking at my long brown hair.
"Thank you," I blushed lightly at the compliment.
"What can i do for you today?" she asked.
I told her what I wanted and she clapped her hands excitedly whisking me away.
I took one last look at the girl in the mirror. Currently, a dull and almost lifeless face was staring at me. Amy returned with her necessary equipment and turned me away from the mirror.
((4 hours later))
"And... Done!" Amy exclaimed as she finished blow drying my hair.
My tummy bubbled with excitement. This was my first makeover ever and I pray nothing went wrong.
"My dear," Amy started. "I'm very proud to say that this is one of my finest works."
She stood holding the edge of my chair, eyes shining with pride, and turned me towards the mirror.
My jaw dropped in shock. I didn't expect it to look this good.
"Oh thank you Amy!" I exclaimed jumping up and engulfing her in a hug.
"Watch your nail sweety!" she said as she let go of me.
I had just got my nails done as well and it matched my hair perfectly. I was never one with long nail. For some reason, my nails never stayed long but I had been growing them for this very moment.
