•Lacey's POV•
I lifted myself off the ground and wiped away the fallen tears.
I held up pretty well despite what just happened.
I would have expected myself to cry bitterly and wallow in self pity but that didn't happen because apart from a few tears, I felt pretty good.
"Sahir?" I asked wanting to know about what he had said earlier.
"Yes Lacey?" He asked sounding a little better than before.
I could see his electric pink eyes from where I stood and they were actually a really pretty color.
"What did you mean when you said that I should take whatever's on the other side of the room and run?"
"Go see for yourself." Was all he said before the ground started to shake terribly.
Water started to pour into the room from cracks in the floor.
I ran to the right of the room and nearly collapsed at what I saw.
"Mason?" I squeaked looking at the lifeless body in front of me.
A thunderous roar pierced the room causing me to spin around nearly falling into the raiding water.
The largest and most beautiful pink lion I've ever seen stood approximately 5 feet away from me.
He stood tall with a firm stance and his majestic mane swayed lightly.
"My name is Dracula." He said and bent his front paws, giving me a bow.
I bowed back and reached my arm out to rub his head.
"You're beautiful." I said in amazement.
"Miss," he chuckled. "We have to leave, now!"
"Don't call me miss, call me Lacey."
I turned back to Mason but before I reached out to him, the same monotonously voice from earlier called out.
"You can only rescue one of the two people in the room before it's too late. Choose wisely."
My heart fell to feet.
The thought of leaving either one of them was too overwhelming for me.
I bent down to get a good look at Mason when something caught my eye.
He didn't have his chain on!
His mom gave him the chain a few months before she passed away and he never took it off.
The water surrounded the bottom layer of the room and quickly started to flow towards us.
My brain was telling to get Mason and leave but my heart couldn't leave Sahir behind.
