•Rose's POV•
We walked carefully over the loose stones that led to a dark room.
"Watch out!" Brandon yelled a little too late.
Lacey's foot got stuck in a small hole and she fell with a thud.
"Ow!" she exclaimed as she tried to free get foot.
"Here let me," Brandon stepped forward.
"Ryan," Lacey cut him off. "I need some help!"
Ryan turned to us and immediately ran towards his sister. It was obvious that he had no idea about what just happened because he was a little ahead of all of us.
"Oh wow," he breathed looking at Lacey's foot through a crack in the hole.
"Jackson come here."
Jackson walked towards them and knelt down besides his sister taking her hand in his and giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"This may take a while so I suggest you stay here with Lace while I take the others to where Rose needs to be ok?" Ryan informed Jackson as he stood up and dusted off his jeans.
"Ugh I'm going back to the submarine!" Kayla exclaimed throwing her hands up in the air. "I've got no time for this. Hunter, come."
"No one asked to come in the first place." Lacey said glaring up at Kayla.
"Are you just going to let her speak to me like that?!?" Kayla half yelled at Ryan.
"She's not lying." you could literally hear the annoyance in his voice.
Kayla huffed and stormed off with Hunter but stooped to glance back.
"Brandon?" she seethed. "Come."
"He's not a dog."
Brandon looked at Lacey in shock as it registered that his sister stood up for him.
"Bye now." Ryan said giving Kayla one of the fakest smiles I've ever seen.
She let out a cry of frustration and stomped her foot looking as if she were shocked that Ryan didn't stand up for her.
"That's it! I'm out!" she said as she finally left.
