Chapter 17

Jules takes us to a set of stairs leading to the second floor of the dome. The wood boards cracking under my feet every step I take. Jules is a middle aged woman about fifty with a skinny body and long blonde hair. I admire her valiant spark noticeable in her grayish-blue eyes.

"From this point on, only Bovise can enter. Ready?" She says.

"Yeah."'I reply.

The door opens upwards and when I step in the room, it is a bit dark and the walls are all blank. I look back at the door closing now. Right after, a screen appears with a woman speaking.

"Hello commander, welcome to the dome's classified pre-battle room. Please enter the code." The lady screen says. The woman speaking on it doesn't look at me, it's like she's looking right through me, which gives me the creeps. For a second, I was about to asks her for the code, hoping shell say it, I doubt it. I then remember the code Sgt. Wolace used back in the Dertus hospital.

73073.

"Access granted." The lady says.

"Thank you Sergeant." I say up to the roof, hoping he was listening from the heavens.

A small glass chamber hiding behind the wall that just opened reveals itself. Inside, is my uniform. The glass door opens with a whoosh sound.

The uniform holds me in awe. The first thing that catches my attention is the bullet proof vest. Dark rich black that shines in the dim blue light. The clothing under it is "Hard Cotton". A light material, cotton, with a protective layer of acidic wax. To protect from any temperature and harsh substances like smoke.

"Every single inch is fire proof." The lady says.

I then focus on the pants. Same vibrant color that make it look leathery. The material used in them is silk-yudinine. A strong and flexible material like spandex. Silk-yudinine is more capable to withstand all forces of nature and toxins. The boots have hardcore grip, those are more a shade of brown.

The long sleeves are camo color, also hard-cotton. At the end of them are gloves.

"The gloves hide an emergency transmitter that will activate at the word 'tiger'." The lady tells me.

Right then, I notice what looks like sleeves and compartments in the torso and in the upper pants. I stare at the metallic helmet with the flag of the Elites on the side. The glass that will be blocking my eyes reflects the light above it. Then the uniform starts rotating, showing me a better picture of the back.

"What are these for?" I ask the screen lady, pointing to the pockets.

"The two on the pants are for guns. The ones on the torso and chest are for amo and radio. The ones on the arms are for your dagger and random items like batteries and rope." She says.

"Thank you." I tell her. I spend a minute inspecting the entire outfit in amazement and extreme awe and astonishment at the same time.

"You may proceed to change into your uniform commander. There is a small room behind me." She says. I look behind her and back at the uniform. As I extend my arms to retrieve it, I can feel the power of it rushing in through my hands. When I have it in my hands, I find it is not as heavy as I thought. The screen lady told me that the technology put into it makes it weigh half of its original weight. I walk to the small dressing room. Once inside, I sit on a bench, not knowing where to start. I decide to go with the pants first, then the torso. It all fits perfectly and I like how my muscles show in the mirror. The camo color looks splendid and I'm anxious to see myself once everything is on.

The lady tells me that the bullet proof vest is not necessary right now, also the gloves and helmet. After my boots are strapped on tightly, I step out of the room.

"Amazing. Simply amazing." She says.

"You may exit the room. Good luck commander Bovise." She says. I thank her and make my way to the doorway. Run down the stairs to an empty room.
