"Do you think it's safe out there?" Knox asked. He glanced at his watch. It was almost midnight. It had been an hour and a half since the show had finished and he wanted to see if he could find Sky.
"I think so," Marcos said. "You wanna fit in a workout?" Marcos was lazily flipping through channels.
"Not exactly," Knox said.
Marcos stopped and looked at him. "I think you are getting less sleep than you do on tour because you're hanging out with this girl," he said.
"It's a cruise. Who needs sleep?" Knox said. He got up and checked his hair in the mirror.
"If I didn't know better, I would say you like this girl," Marcos said.
Knox stopped fidgeting with his hair and looked at Marcos. "I'm gonna go," he said.
"I don't think so," Marcos said. He tried to climb out of the corner of the couch where he had slowly sunken in.
"Bye skipper," Knox said. He grabbed his room key and shut the door behind him.
Knox tried the lounge first but it was closed. Then he tried the main lobby, that being the only other place he knew how to get to. He figured he could ask someone at guest service how to get a hold of Sky.
He was aware of loud music coming from somewhere to his left as he got off the elevator but turned to see the main lobby empty and quiet. He was walking towards guest service when he saw someone go running by. He did a second take, realizing it was Sky after she had passed.
"Sky!" He jogged after her.
"Hey!" She popped out from behind the corner she had just disappeared behind. She was a little out of breathe.
"Where are you running off to?" he asked. She seemed eager to keep moving.
"You busy?" she asked. She started to walk away and he quickly followed.
"No," he said, catching up to her.
"Good. Come on." She took his hand and pulled him through the 'employee only' door.
Sky dropped Knox's hand as she pushed through the last door and entered the staff dining area. A large group of people were already gathered there. She spotted Anders standing to the side and moved his way, glancing behind her to make sure Knox was following.
"You made it," Anders said. His smile faltered when he saw Knox.
"Hello," he said in a stern voice. She elbowed him the stomach, giving him a threatening look.
"Hello Knox, how are you?" he added, in a weird formal voice.
"What's up man?" Knox said. He offered him his hand. Sky stared Anders down, cutting short any idea he had of refusing the greeting.
"Nothing much. I heard you had a good show," Anders said, sliding back into his friendly self.
"I think it went well. What did you think?" Knox asked Sky.
"Shhh," she said. Nico was getting up on a chair and calling for everyone's attention.
"Alright ladies and gentleman! I'm glad you all could make it," Nico said. "I'll start by reminding everyone of the boundaries." He looked in Jules's direction. Sky chuckled as she watched Jules give an innocent shrug. "It's from down the hall until you reach the fake fern and then to the employee stairs. Not past the fern."
"It wasn't my fault," Jules called out. Everyone laughed.
"What?" Knox asked. Sky turned to see him giving her a confused look.
