What the hell?

My eyes went wide and the words played like a broken record in my head. Everyone thinks I'm the killer? I've been in my house for the past few days, haven't I? No, I know I haven't left until this afternoon so... what is everyone going on about?"

"Take it back!" Payne stopped and I heard the bedroom door slam open, her body rounding the corner and her glare would have been menacing but I was pissed.

"What was that, murderer?" I pushed past Adrian and right into Payne's face.

"I said take it back or I will make sure you swallow your words!" Instant rage and hatred coursed through my veins. I wanted nothing more than to rip her head off her shoulders.

"Woah, guys! Tone it down a bit, okay?" Adrian stepped between us but Payne just pushed him aside.

"I want to see you try, Sorrow! You're always trying to look so big and bad! Show me what you are really made of!" Payne took a step forward and shoved me back, almost making me trip over the table.

Show her what you're really made of. Make her suffer...

I was going to do just that. I'm fed up with her pushing me around and now was her time to be pushed by someone else. I quickly regained my footing and ran at her with every intent to harm her. I was, as they say, seeing red and in no way able to stop myself. Adrian must have known it too because he tackled me to the floor before I could even touch Payne.

"Sorrow! Step outside, now!" Adrian stood up and pulled me to my feet, shoving me toward the front door.

"You always side with that bitch! She's the one who started this! Why can't you see how horrible she really is!" I couldn't believe he was siding with her, over his best friend!

“I’m not siding with anyone! You are out of control and with the way you were looking at her, it makes me think that what everyone is saying about you might be true…” Adrian had finally gotten me out onto the front porch and I stood there speechless at what he had just said.

“you think-”

“I don’t know what to believe anymore Sorrow… Corey said the other night he saw someone climbing into his window and he swears it was you…” Adrian looked away from me, letting his words fade into silence.

“Right… You would believe the biggest gossiper in school and still throw me under the bus.” I pulled another cigarette from the pack and lit it, leaning over the porch rail.

“When did you start smoking? Nevermind… What am I supposed to think Sorrow? You haven’t been to school in days and honestly, since your parents died, you haven’t been the same. I don’t know who you are anymore…” He walked beside me and joined me on the rail, placing his hands together and hanging his head.

“I’m still the same person and I’m not really sure I want to go back to school. I’m failing anyway and usually skip class. I’m not going to graduate so why continue to waste my time there? At least you have a future planned. I don’t even know what I’m going to do tomorrow when I wake up. You haven’t seen me in a few days and now all of a sudden you don’t know who I am? I don’t think it works that way, Adrian.” I took a long drag and shoved off the rail, walking off the porch.

“Where are you going?” Adrian also stood up but remained on the porch with his arms held out at his sides.

“Home. I’ve done enough damage here already. If you or Savannah wanna stop by later, be my guest but I’m not going to sit around and listen to Payne accuse me of killing anyone.” I held up my hand and gave a quick wave then turned and walked off.

Soon I was stepping through my front door and threw my jacket on the floor, not really caring anymore. I was feeling pretty tired already and decided to take a quick nap in case anyone decided to come over. I walked up to my room and laid down, kicking my shoes off the side and closed my eyes.

Unknown’s POV

The sound of the wooden chair scraping against the concrete floor sent shivers down my spine. Her unconscious body slowly lifting from the floor with each calm breath, if only she were to know what was to happen next.

I lifted her limp body with ease and placed her upon the chair, tying her slender arms behind her back with a thick rope and slowly moved in front of her. I could feel the anticipation growing but strangely, it wasn’t my own. A sharp pain erupted throughout my head and I grasped it with my hands, my eyes closed tight, as I fell to my knees.

A minute passed and the pain subsided allowing me to compose myself once more, her groans disturbing the silence as she awoke. I stood upon my feet and turned to her, noticing another presence standing beside her. A spike of fear emerged when I realized the presence was another version of myself, but they were slightly different.

His voice was like silk, cooing me, planting ideas in my head as to what to do with my victim as he moved around her, but she wasn’t able to see him. She just sat there with fear radiating from her eyes, only focused on the true me in front of her.

The ideas continued flooding into my head until I couldn’t take it anymore and I screamed out for them to stop but in my moment of weakness I felt something spring up inside of me and I was no longer in control, only allowed to watch as I unwillingly moved toward her and the urge to kill grew stronger.

I gathered my strength and overcame the force as he appeared next to her and began shouting, urging me to get on with things. He disappeared again and I was taken over, this time the force was stronger. He moved me to her until I was in her face and she winced, looking away from me. Rage filled me and he grabbed her hair, pulling it hard enough to turn her head toward us and she screamed with agony. A smile spread across my lips as I could only watch her struggle in her bondage.

My hand had just let her hair go and my lips moved to say something but she suddenly head butted me in the face, knocking me onto my back on the concrete. She must have been working on the rope because she pushed herself from the chair and took off running past me. My hand reached out to grab her but had missed by a few inches.

His maniacal laugher erupted and shook my whole body as he composed himself and watched as she fumbled with the doorknob, only to realize her only exit was locked. She turned toward me as my body closed in on her and soon my hand was colliding with her neck. Her eyes went wide and her gasps filled the air, the grip tightening with each second.

I began fighting as hard as I could to overcome him but he was much stronger than I and as she breathed her last breath, he loosened his grip and her lifeless body slumped to the floor. I instantly felt his presence leave my body and I was now alone with the body.

This wasn’t supposed to happen… I only wanted to show her a taste of her own medicine… now I was a murderer.

At this point in time though, I was more worried about who he was… and why he was here…
