It happened again that night.
I sat awake for hours, holding my legs to my chest as I sat in the corner of my bed. The fear in her eyes burned every time I closed my eyes and her screams seemed to echo through the house.
I was too afraid to fall asleep again so I stood from my bed and made my way to the bathroom. Maybe splashing some water on my face would wake me up a bit longer. I was already exhausted seeing as it was 3 a.m. but I couldn't help the uneasy feeling that dream left in the pit of my stomach.
Once I dried my face off I decided to head downstairs and turn on the television. I began flipping through the channels but could find anything to catch my interest. I decided to keep the news on, wondering if I could catch anything more on Valories murder. I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew I wasn't in my house anymore.
~Nightmare~
I was standing in a dark hallway, line green paint adorned the walls and a feint sound of a television played in the background. I noticed a few pictures hung on the walls and stopped to give them a once over before I went to investigate any further. I looked over the people in the photo and stared at a kid I knew from Savannahs group.
Connor Dreyer.
I snuck toward the closest doorway and peered around the corner to find Connor sitting on the couch. I smirked playfully as he stood from the couch and began making his way toward me. I took a few steps back quickly, turning another corner and ended up in the kitchen.
Perfect. We shall take him now.
I froze in place as the familiar voice echoed through my head. I knew all too well what was going to happen but no matter what I tried I couldn't wake myself from this dream. I would be forced to watch another murder take place and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
Connor coughed, sounding rather close and in my panic I reached out for a knife that was perched in a block on the counter top. Just as I hid it behind my back he rounded the corner and stopped in his tracks.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Before he could ask anything else I leaped forward and exposed the knife as I took a swing at him.
He just barely dodged the blade and started to make a run for it. In that moment I could feel the other presence completely take over. I chased up the wooden staircase after him and finally trapped him in the bathroom. He backed up by the bath tub and held his hands out urging me to stay back.
"Don't come any closer psycho! I knew it was you but why are you doing this?" I took another step forward, holding the knife pointed out at Connor.
"I could ask you the same thing. Why did you do it? Who will it be next time? Will you ever stop? Well, I already know the answer to those questions and the result will be well deserved and refreshing." His voice was so calm and mischievous as he spoke to our victim, inching closer.
"You cant do this! They will catch you and when they do I hope they bury you six feet under!" Connor rushed forward at me but I could tell the presence was stronger.
I threw Connor back toward the tub again and chuckled darkly as I tightened my grip on the knifes handle. I couldn't take another word he had to say and in a full rage I sped forward and plunged the knife deep in his flesh. Instantly relief washed over me but I was short lived as he continued to breathe. I clenched my teeth as I watched a range of emotions scan across his face and I couldn't stand to look at him anymore.
"Just die already"
I pulled the knife out and plunged it in again almost instantly, hoping this one would do the trick but again I was denied the revenge I deserved. I could feel the rage building and I lost control. I repeated my last attempt but this time I didn't stop after one stab. Two, three, four, five more stabs later and Connor was finally staring at me with his lifeless eyes; the pain molded into the contours of his face.
"It is finished... for now. Hahahahaha." His laughter echoed through the room as I felt him slip from control. I fell to the tile, finally in control of my movement and scooted myself to the opposite wall. I placed my face in my hands and peered at Connor between my fingers as the thoughts of what to do next flooded my mind. I was quickly interrupted by the voice though.
"We need to get rid of the body." My lips moved in sync with his words and I realized I was speaking along with the voice. Whatever this thing was, I knew it was a part of me and I, a part of it. We were in this together and with his help I wouldn't ever be alone. The thought alone was enough the spread a chilling smile across my lips.
~End Nightmare~
I awoke in another sweat as I looked around frantically, only to realize I was back in my bedroom. I slowly stood from my bed and opened my window to allow a breeze in to cool me off before sitting back on the edge of my bed. I placed my head in my hand and tried to shake the horrid images from my head.
"How in the hell did I get back in here? I know I fell asleep on the couch this morning so what am I doing up here? Could it be that I was too tired to remember walking up?" I tried to come up with a solution but was soon interrupted by my cell going off.
Hey I'm coming over today. I could really use a friend to talk to. –Vannah
I replied back, asking her what was wrong and within a few seconds I had the answer I was dreading to see.
Connor has gone missing... be over soon -Vannah
