Aisha's POV.

Annoyingly I woke up before I should.
Abdulrazaq and I were binge watching Game Of Thrones so we didn't go to bed early. And I forgot to put on my alarm.
You knowing that feeling when you're sleeping but you're trying to wake up at a specific time so it's like you're on edge in your sleep?

You never have a peaceful sleep when you're in that position.
So I woke up thirty minutes before Fajr.

I groan and sit up.
Usually Abdul is up by now but I think he's tired too.

Honestly, I was excited about the wedding and the marriage but the first day being his wife—it was unexpected. That was when reality came crashing down that I didn't really like him the way I thought I did.

Don't get me wrong it's not like I don't want to stay married to him, infact if I had the chance to choose a spouse, I'd still choose him.

But I think things are changing, I really do like him now. And I'm starting to get scared that he doesn't really like me and he might never. I hear guys don't just fall in love after marriage like women do and if that's the case, there's going to be a lot of tears in my future.

"Aisha?" He calls my name sleepily.
"Yeah?"

He sits up rubbing his eyes.
"What're you doing?"
"It's almost time for Fajr"

He nods "Alright but you are okay? You're just seated there. Is something bothering you?" He asks placing his hand on my back.

I smile shaking my head.
I doubt he can see me because it's dark "I'm really okay. I just woke up before I should, that's all"

He nods "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to"
"For real, I wanted to be the one to wake you up today and I got distracted"
"Exactly my point, your thoughts distracted you, which means that something is bothering you".

"Abdul, there's really nothing. Please there's nothing"
"Okay but you can talk to me if there is"
"Of course"

He gets out of bed stretching "I need yo get dressed and head to the mosque".
"Okay"

Abdul went out to meet some of his friends.
So I'm alone at home.
It's not like when he's home we're always talking or doing something but I just feel at ease knowing he's there. So when he's out I kinda feel bored and tired.

My phone starts ringing and I pick it up.
"Zainabu, what's up?"
"Hmm. Aishatu, so if I didn't call you wouldn't have called me"

"No, I would have texted you"
"I know you don't like calls but still. Stop using that as an excuse to avoid us"

"That's not remotely possible and you know it".
"Whatever. How're you and the husband doing?"

I huff "You know, just fine"
"Really? You sure? You don't sound fine"

"Yeah, he went out to meet with his friends. They told him they wanted to come by but he said he didn't want to stress me with cooking and all that so he'd take them out"
She bursts out laughing "So you're sad because he's not home?"

I nod.
Even though I know she can't see me.
"Let's switch to video call"

We switch.
The first she does is laugh, like for a whole minute straight.
"What?"
"I never knew you were this clingy. It surprises me Aisha, it really does"

I shake my head "Let me be"
"Anyway, Khalil told me he's meeting with some friends so they're probably together at the moment"

I nod.
"Wait! Zainab are you naked?"

She laughs adjusting her phone, I quickly turn my head away "That's nasty, why the hell are you walking around naked"

"Firstly, it's my house and secondly I was about to take my bath when I decided to call"
"Talking to me was that urgent" I say looking at my phone again.

She smiles "Yes. Plus I'm going to go see Mami and Baba tomorrow or the next and I wanted to know if you'd come along"
I nod "Yeah. I can come pick you up"

"Okay then. I need to go take my bath and start getting dinner ready before Khalil comes back. Kisses" she ends the call hurriedly.

She always ends her calls in such a hurry.

I feel something hovering over me and I immediately jack up unfortunately clashing with Abdul's forehead.

"Ah!" I shout.
"And can you believe she was the one who hit me?" He smiles rubbing out.

"Sorry—but what were you doing?"
"I thought you were pretending so I decide to check"

"Ah. I didn't hear you come in"
"I have a key, remember?"

I nod "Oh, that's true" I say smiling sheepishly.
He just smiles looking at me which kind of made me feel uncomfortable.
"What is it?"

She shrugs.
I shake my head "There's definitely something"

He sits on the couch still smiling, I curiously sit next to him "What? Is there something on my face?" I ask looking for my phone to check my face.

He shakes his head "You're just looking extra pretty and cute today"
I blush, like I think I turned red.

"Anyway, how about we go out for dinner?"
I pout "Really?"
"Did you cook?"

I abruptly cover my mouth.

That was when I remembered.
I completely forgot I have to make my husband dinner.
I decided to lie down and rest before calling to ask what to cook for dinner and then I slept off.

I look up at the clock and it's already past eight.
"I'm so sorry, I slept off. I didn't even pray" I groan.
He shakes his head "No need for bothering yourself about that. I wanted to celebrate something so either way we would have gone out"

I raise my eyebrows "What are we celebrating?"
He smiles "I got a promotion"

I gasp and hug him excitedly "That's great news. When?"
He huffs "When the hospital director called to to tell me earlier when I was out".

"Then we definitely need to celebrate"
"Exactly. Why don't you go pray and freshen up. I'll go take my bath and then we'll go out"

"Sounds like a plan".
