Chapter Seven:

The next day, Team Seven-as a group-entered the destination needed to turn in their entry forms which was the very place they started.

The Shinobi of Konoha Academy.

They entered and ascended the staircase, their minds set on the third floor, and when they got to the second floor, they were met with genin teams scattered around the room, trying to get through the two chunin who stood, guarding the door that read '302'. From his place in the shadows, Dimitri snorted with a bragging smirk on his face, please that petty illusion is no match for Lady Amethyst or her team. As predicted, Team Seven spared no glance and ascended once more until a voice called, "Hinata-sama!" Said girl looked over to see her cousin jogging up to her with his two teammates trailing behind. She smiled. "Neji-niisan, Tenten-chan, Lee-kun." Lee grinned brightly, his teeth sparkling brighter than a star, as he declared, "HELLO, OH BEAUTIFUL LILAC OF KONOHA!!!!" before getting slapped upside the head by a fuming and embarrassed weapons mistress, her chocolate eyes set in a glare. Neji ignored his teammates and asked, "Shall we form an alliance, Hinata-sama?" as the six ascended the staircase with Hinata smiling softly. "Hai, Neji-niisan." Neji smiled just as they reached the top of the staircase with Kakashi and Gai waiting for them at the doors which lead to the true room '302'. Gai was crying 'manly' tears as he spoke, "Oh! My youthful team forming an alliance with my hip rival's hip team! So youthful!!!" Lee sniffled as Tenten, Neji, Naruto, and Kiba facepalmed while Kakashi and Hinata sighed. The 'hip rival' of Gai eye smiled at his team as he admitted, "You four are the best team I have ever passed, and I'm glad I did because you have become my family." Naruto, Hinata, and Kiba grinned at their sensei before walking inside with Team Nine following after, only to see Sakura screeching at a glaring Ino as she had her scrowny arms around an annoyed Sasuke who had a scowl on his features. When the doors opened, he glanced over to see Hinata and her team with another team that was one year his senior. He grinned in relief. "Hinata!" He called as he quickly got out of Sakura's hold and in a flash, was behind Naruto, hugging Hinata who had a rosy pink blush on her cheeks. He then turned to Neji, a very serious look in his onyx eyes, an aura of business surrounding him.

"My imouto (my little sister),"

Neji glared at the Uchiha's statement heatedly.

"No, my imouto."

Sasuke returned the Hyūga's glare, his glare icy cold colliding with scolding hot, as bolts of lightning striked their gazes with intensity.

"My imouto,"

Neji's lips pulled in a snarl, his glare intensifying greatly, as he snarled, "My imouto," with Sasuke hissing venomly at Neji while the rest of the Konoha 12 watched with sweatdrops rolling down their heads as the two most cold-hearted boys fought over the shy Hyūga heiress who had gotten out of the Uchiha's hold and stood next to a snickering Shikamaru, an amused Shino, and a giggling Ino.

"She's my imouto, Uchiha."

Sasuke snorted as the two started to circle each other, their glares still in place.

"No, she's mine, Hyūga."

Sasuke snarled the boy's named which caused Neji to glare harder. Before they could get into what Kiba called a "cat fight", Hinata placed herself between them, her face morphed into the "puppy dog face" as she pleaded, "P-please don't fight." with her eyes wide and glassing over with tears which made their eyes flicker over to her before looking down in shame.

"Gomenasai, Hinata-sama."

"Gomenasai, Hinata-chan."

The two boys chorused with their heads down in defeat, their eyes glancing at her to see her soft and gentle expression. "I f-forgive you..." She softly stuttered slightly, her lips pulled up in a small smile. "You guys should keep it down, everyone's eying you like a predator would to its prey." A voice scolded as a boy with tealish white hair and glasses appeared, his hands in his pockets. The Konoha 12 looked at the newcomer and Hinata was puzzled when she felt Dimitri growl in his place in her shadow, making a dark shiver go down her spine as the newcomer, Kabuto, explained all the villages participating in the Exams.

He soon got to the ninja.

"I want information on Gaara no Sabaku and Lee Rock." Sasuke piped up immediately, making Hinata sweatdrop. Looks like he hasn't changed in that department... She inwardly sighed as Kabuto informed them of her cousin's teammate and the Suna nin. Meanwhile, Gaara was staring at Hinata with curiousity in his eyes as he heard his 'mother' whisper in his head, "We must protect her, my son, we mustn't let harm come to her..." For once in his life, he agreed with his 'mother'. Hai, okaa-san, I will protect her with my life. Gaara declared as his sister, Temari, asked, "Otouto-kun, are you alright?" with a concerned look settling on her usually sharp, calculating features. He nodded, "Hai, Onee-sama, we need to protect her..." He gestured with his head the direction of the Hyūga girl and Temari followed his gaze and when she saw her, she nodded with determination sharpening her teal eyes. She trusted her Otouto-kun, if they needed to protect her, then they will protect her.

They stood in front of the Forest of Death, their Heaven Scroll with Naruto who had it sealed inside his pocket, their eyes holding a determined fire upon them. As the gates of Hell opened, they knew that death and gore will fall upon them. They knew that this time, there was no quits, no childish games, no turning back. They knew that this time, their father figure wasn't there to guide them through the darkness.

They knew that they'll will be put to the test.
