Chapter 13: Eternal Punishment

Friday, August 29th, 2014. The day of the Prince Royce Concert came and I had it all planned out. I was gonna go with Star, her sister Cindy and Cindy's boyfriend Luis to the concert and then after the concert I was going to have one of them drop me off at Erick's place.

A couple days before the concert I called Star to lay out the plan I had, "Hey Star, look I know you're not really gonna be on board with what I have in mind but please just hear me out."

"Sure, what's up?" I should've just let it go now that I think about because something in the way she said that made me feel weird but I wanted to do whatever so I told her.

I hesitated a moment, "I've never really done anything you know like what people my age are doing, I've always been the good one and I was wondering if after the concert you could drop me off so I can meet up Chiko?"

Around this time some stupid posts had been going around about a Purge so she started laughing, "Are you sure you're going to be safe with him during our areas purge night?"

"I'll be fine but can you please do me this one favor?" I was desperate at this point.

Star sighed, "I guess but the only thing is that we have to get it passed Cindy and Luis but we'll figure it out."

Push forward to the actual night and I was just running around late waiting on my uncle to get off work so that he could take me to Star's house. It was about 5 when my uncle finally showed up acting all nonchalant, "Hey kiddo."

"Uncle I need to go come on, Star's not going to wait for me if I'm late," I was annoyed because my uncle is one of the most slowest drivers and it drives me up the wall even to this day at how slow he can be.

I barely make it in time and as I hop out the car my uncle asks, "What time do I need to come get you?"

"Star's dropping me off tomorrow before she goes to work, I'm sleeping over tonight... remember?" I asked as I slammed the door shut.

He sighed, "Careful. Love you, bye."

"Bye!" I yelled as I got to the door.

Star was still in the shower at this point while Cindy and Luis were almost done getting ready. I've had a crush on their older brother forever so I was pressed to say hi to him when he walked by. Not much of a conversation I mean what can a grown man talk to a teen about? Star's finally out of the shower and gets dressed.

Cindy and Luis were in one car and Star and I were in hers. Star turns to me and says, "Change of plans, tell my sister you're not going home and she can drop you off."

"What?" I was so lost.

"Nothing let's just play with her," she started laughing to herself.

I should've known something was off about that but I didn't ask any questions just kept it moving. We finally get to Wolf Trap and we're looking for parking, Luis seemed to have found an easy one while Star was just roaming around for about 10 minutes until she finally found one. Cindy gets to us and pulls me to the side and says, "Luis and I are taking you home."

At this point I was beyond confused, "Huh?"

"Just tell Star we're taking you home and we can drop you off wherever you want to, even if it's not home," Cindy just kept insisting. During this part of their relationship they weren't even supposed to be alone anywhere without a third wheel, but me being stupid back then didn't put two and two together.

I ran to Star to get away from Cindy and tell Star what her sister had said. Star was just an emotional pregnant wreck at this point so she was just in a fowl mood for the rest of the night. The concert was alright, it ended around 11 and Star took me to Erick's apartment, "You sure you're gonna be okay?"
