screaming gremlins

A week after the storm, classes resumed for the boys. They were all upset about going back to school but Jin reminded them that they will still see each other around anyway.

During the short break they had, the boys hung out. They would play games inside their houses when the rain would be too hard for them to play outside. Board and card games, building forts, destroying each other's forts, watching movies, the list goes on.

The hyungs weren't all that happy at going back to school, but it was Yoongi and Seokjin' last year, so they had to do their best to graduate. The maknaes, however, were the pouty ones. Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook, all trudged heavily inside the school with clear emotions of grief and sadness.

"What's the long face for, kids?" Principal Bang asked the young ones as they entered the school lobby. The maknaes just stood there, playing with the tiles under their feet.

"They're just upset that school starts again." Namjoon chimes as he ruffled Jungkook's hair. Principal Bang chuckled at his remark,"Well, they are kids. It's normal. Have a nice day, boys. Oh, and Yoongi, I better not see you in the library, sleeping again." Principal Bang walked off as he bid the boys a goodbye.

"Well, I have to go to the office and file some stuff. See you guys at lunch!" Jin waved them off and rushed to the school council office.

Hoseok went to a nearby vendo and bought milk while the maknaes followed him like baby ducks. Yoongi and Namjoon were sharing earphones, listening to GDragon.

The bell rang, signaling the start of first period. The maknaes walked off to their classroom without a word while the remaining three looked at their retreating backs. "They're that upset, huh?" Hoseok chuckled as he sipped the last of his milk.

"C'mon Hobi, you know how Mr Woo hates late students. See you later, Yoongs!" Namjoon said as he grabbed Hoseok and the two started running towards their class.
Yoongi, in his black hoodie, pale face, and messy hair glory, slowly walked towards his class. Yawning, of course.

"I hate math."

"And and and this guy named Clawlin bit Sarah's arm just 'cause she was definitely better than him at dancing." Taehyung babbled as he recalled the incident at their PE class earlier that morning.

"Yeah! Like, Sarah was all cool and then Clawlin just couldn't accept his defeated butt!" Jimin piped in after he swallowed his drink. Jungkook on the other hand, was nodding at his friends' words.

"Wow, looks like you guys are one rowdy group, huh?" Hoseok said as he chewed his sandwich. Jin scolded him for talking with his mouth full.

"That should warn you three to never hit your classmates, or anyone at all. Especially girls. That could lead you to trouble you know?" Namjoon said as he answered the maknaes. "As for Clawlin, he will surely be suspended for a week or so. That's the school's rule." Jin added.

"As much as how great being suspended for a week sounds like, trust me, it aint good. Just imagine the bunch of homework you'll have to work on when you get back." Said Yoongi while leaning his head on his propped hand. The maknaes shivered at the thought of homework so they promised their hyungs to be good.

Classes were finally over for the day as the bell rung throughout the hallways of the school. Students filled the halls, coming out of their respective classrooms and into the open.

Jin did the same as he gathered his things and placed them inside his bag. The male neatly slung his bag over his shoulder and made his way out.

"Hyung, we're going to the ice cream shop today, can you join?"

Jungkook literally clung to his arm as he halted from walking. He was surprised to see his younger brother at the second floor, but who he was to wonder, when what Jungkook wants, Jungkook gets?

He warmly smiled at his little brother and lightly patted his hair, "Of course, Kookie, wanna join me at the office? I'll just drop some papers off." Jungkook smiled, showing off his bunny teeth, and nodded.

"Hey, hyung, did you know? I got a good score at Science today."

"That's great, Kookie. It's good to see you happy like that."

"It feels good getting a good grade."

"It does, doesn't it? Will you keep up the performance, Kookie?"

"Of course, hyung! I'm the Golden Maknae after all!"

The brothers arrived at the student council office and Jin stacked some papers on his desk and said goodbye to the other officers who were there: Jaehwan the vice, Chaeyoung the secretary, and Yugyeom, the representative for the sophomores.

"Bye guys, remember to close up, okay? Whose turn is it?"

"It's Jinyoung's turn, pres, he's at the CR."

"Okay, remind him please, alright Jaehwannie?"

"Got it! Oh, and tell your cousin I said hi."

"Alright I'll tell Wonshikkie. Bye!"

"Bye, pres! Bye, Kookie!"

"Bye, Jaehwan-hyung! Bye, Yugyeommie and Chae-noona!"

"See ya, Kookie! Don't forget about our match tonight, ok?"

"You're on!"

The brothers descended the stairs going to the lobby. Jungkook went first, being the excited one even though the ice cream parlor was literally their second home. And even though it's been years, Appa Kim never gave away his real name, thus, no free ice cream. In all honesty, Jin is still motivated to know Appa Kim's real name (it's kinda like his goal in life).

"Let's gooooooo!"

Jungkook sped down the stairs and straight outside, past his hyungs in the main lobby. The twins soon followed after and then Hoseok who was screeching bloody murder to Taehyung who stepped on his foot and something about gremlins and unfair. Jin saw Namjoon snicker and Yoongi facepalming himself.

"Those brats, when will they ever learn to keep themselves quiet?" Yoongi groaned as he adjusted the strap of his bag.

"Well, hyung, those brats are your little brothers, too, so you should know better that they will never shut up."

Namjoon spoke as he laughed and went outside to the group of screaming children, aka Hobi and his little gremlins (aka JK and the twins). Jin only smiled at Yoongi and ruffled his hair.

"C'mon gramps, we still have ice cream to eat."
