Jason's pov-

I heard a scream, and it was coming from the beach.

Weren't Alpha and Annabeth the only ones on the beach?

Wait, they're either getting attacked. Which I highly doubt, neither would scream, tthey'd just beat the crap out of the attacker. Plus the magical boundary's would [always, unless poisoned] keep the monsters out.

And Annabeth is not stupid enough to try to pick a fight with Alpha. But she is stupid enough to try and pull his hood off.

As much as I hate her for cheating on Percy, I need to help her before Alpha really, truly hurts her.

Before I know it, I am already there at the beach. The strong, salty smell of the sea is rippled in the air by the soft wind.

I spot Alpha with his hand locked around Annabeths arm. He looks furious. He says something that I don't quite hear. But as Commander Alpha turns his back, Annabeth kicks out, and hits him in the shin, Alpha falls out. He catches himself before he face plants, though.

Alpha turns around quickly, so fast that you cannot even tell that he had moved.

He punches her in the face. The nose to be specific. And judo flips her, like how Annabeth had done to Percy when they had been reunited.

Bitter sweet memories of Percy sprang into my mind. Even the bad ones, like Percy and I being possessed by eidolon's in Kansas, about to fight each other to the death. And Frank discovering Annabeth and Percy in the stables on Percy's first night on the Argo II.

I shake away the thoughts and focus on the fight in front of me.

It appears now to be that Alpha had a knee on Annabeth's chest, he was holding her head up by her hair, and was punching her repeatedly in the stomach.

I couldn't stop him, because I was just beginning to get through his cracks, and getting little snippets of information on him. Plus, I wouldn't give that up for a girl I hate. So I just walk away, acting as if I had seen nothing, and just decided not to help Annabeth.

--

I ran into Piper as I walked away, she was just braiding two gold feathers into her hair. Which brought out the tan in her skin.

"Hey Beauty Queen!" I exclaimed in a sing-songy voice.

"Sparky, how are you?" Chirped up Piper.

"Good, you?"

"Great, I just bought these feathers for half-price!"

I laugh in relief, as we walk away without her noticing the scene with Alpha and Annabeth.

"What'd you do today?" Wonders a very curious Piper.

"Well, I recently had a strawberry milkshake. Yummy!" I rub my stomach demonstrating where it went, like a five year old.

"Oh, goody!" Mocks Piper.

"Yes, goody"

"Anyway, I'd love to talk to you, but I need to clean up my cabin, for inspections later. Bye Sparks!"

"Bye Beauty!"

--

"Jason who was screaming? What happened?" Chiron exclaimed striding up to me after he noticed that I was there, after I dropped Piper off at her cabin.

"Oh nothing really, Annabeth tried taking Alpha's hood off, threw a punch when he twisted her wrist away. He is just pulling her by the hair, pounding her in the stomach" I say nonchalantly.

"What? And you didn't help her?"

"Should I have? She cheated on one of my best friends with another one of my best friends, Leo, so now I hate them both. I should have told Percy, but since I hadn't, it is now my duty to let Annabeth get punched in the gut multiple times" I rant.

"Oh, fair point" Chiron says walking away, remembering how she made his best student get exiled. He forgave the Seven, because we were in an awkward, who to betray and tell, situation. But he never forgave Annabeth or Leo.

And then, another set of monsters came pounding up the hill.

And guess what they now have, you'd never believe me if I told you what they have, though.

•End of Chapter•

So here's a kind-of-not-really cliffhanger.

Who likes the WattPad update?

Yes, I like it.

or,

Nope, hate it.

or even the,

Eh, I don't really care.

Anyway, today was the last  tournament of the season. *sigh*, Oh well.

Anyway,
