The next day, as promised, the band performed in front of Nick while in the student lounge. Archie had just joined Kevin and me in watching the girls' song. We sat in silence and listened until the end before Nick started clapping. I watched as he walked towards them.

"You Pussycats are pearls before the swine of Riverdale. You all have to come to the party I'm hosting tonight." He turned back to motion at us before turning back to the girls. "In your honor, of course. Let's say ten o'clock, my hotel room at the Five Seasons."

The girls all smiled enthusiastically at Nick as a voice interrupted from behind. "Did somebody say party?" We all turned as none other than Cheryl Blossom made her way into the room, a smirk on her face. "Hi, there. I'm Riverdale's resident It Girl, Cheryl Blossom. You must be Veronica's old school chum I keep hearing about."

Veronica came to sit next to Archie and I as Nick introduced himself. "Nick St. Clair."

Cheryl grinned. "Now that's a name I can get behind. Ten o'clock, you said? I'll be there at 11:00."

I shared a look with Kevin as we both rolled our eyes at the duo. Suddenly, Archie took off out the door after someone.

Veronica glanced at me before pulling me out of my chair and walking towards Nick. "Nicky, I think it's time for you to meet the best one yet." She gave him a sweet smile before leading us both out the door.

I saw Betty and Archie not too far away and connected the dots. We stopped just a little bit away from the two neighbors.

Veronica smiled brightly as she reached to grab Betty's arm. "Betty! My old friend Nick here is having a little soiree at his hotel tonight. Will you come?"

"Betty's our bestie and the best." I gave the blonde a smile as I leaned against Archie.

Nick nodded politely. "I won't take no for an answer."

"I wouldn't miss it," Betty accepted. I frowned at the tone in her voice. She sounded upset, angry almost. I gave Archie a puzzled look which he returned with a shrug. I sighed and stepped away from him.

Something was up between the two of them...and I was going to get to the bottom of it.

"And then, we walk into the Gilded Lily and there's Gal! Again!" Nick was busy telling his dumb story to impress all the girls in the room. I was sitting in between Archie and Betty, the former who had his arm around my sister.

"Gal?" Archie repeated, giving me a confused glance.

Cheryl rolled her eyes. "Gadot. Keep up, Archie."

Veronica ignored her boyfriend's slip up and held her drink out to him. "Archiekins, a refill, s'il vous plait?"

The redhead didn't say anything before taking the glass from my sister's hand. I sank back into the cushions and crossed my arms at the scene. Just like before, Ronnie was showing off in front of Nick and totally neglecting Archie.
