The deep reality of what occurred at the musical set in as I stood a few feet away from Midge's casket. A white rose was gripped tightly between my shaky fingers as I listened to Cheryl sing. The River Vixens were dressed in their uniforms except they were all black. Betty and Veronica had chosen not to join the group and remained by their respective families.

When the time came, I walked forward with my sister, gently resting the flower on the casket. Her arm looped in mine before we stepped backwards, rejoining Archie and Betty. I made eye contact with Jughead who was directly across from me, standing next to his father. We stared at each other for a brief moment before I looked away.

After seeing Midge's body on stage, I couldn't handle the emotions that the previous week had brought on. Jughead sat with me for hours at Pop's while I cried and released my pent up thoughts. As if we weren't in far enough, my encounters with the Black Hood pulled us further and further into the chaotic mess that came with the investigation.

"I also feel it is my duty to say that," Cheryl's voice pulled me out of my thoughts as she glared at Sheriff Keller. "Like the Furies of Ancient Greece, who ceaselessly pursue blood atonement when a crime been committed, the Vixens and I vow that we will not rest until those responsible for the murder of our sister is rightly punished."

The ceremony was soon concluded, leaving the crowd to start to disperse. Jughead crossed the snowy ground to approach us, his arms immediately wrapping around my shoulders and pulling me into a hug. I smiled slightly as I pressed my cheek into his chest, relishing in the warmth he provided.

Jughead pulled me under his arm as we started to exit the cemetery only to see Mrs. Klump argue with Sheriff Keller before she smacked him across the face. Cheryl approached him after the broken mother departed. The Blossom girl made it strictly clear that Sheriff Keller was done failing the town before she, too, left the snowy grounds.

My mouth opened slightly at the scene. None of us chose to comment on the situation and continued our way to the car. Veronica and Archie claimed the front two seats, leaving Betty to climb in the back.

"Van, you coming?" Archie placed his hand on the door handle, prepared to shut his door.

I shook my head, nodding towards Jug. "I'm gonna travel with this one. See you guys there."

Archie gave me a smile before closing the door, the car soon leaving the parking lot. I turned towards my boyfriend to see him holding both of his hands toward me, his Serpent jacket in one and the helmet in the other.

"Is this an ultimatum?" I teased as I grabbed the helmet, securing it over my curls.

Jughead rolled his eyes. "Figured you didn't want frostbite on those shoulders of yours," He shot back.
