chapter 6-the bitch plays dirty

I walked into class and plastered that same fake ass fucking smile on, like I did every lesson. But today, as I try to put on that fake smile, something suddenly feels different. As the smile appears on my perfectly broken face, a tear falls and I fall to the floor. I placed my head in my palms and the tears start running down my cheeks, making my eyes sting and my heart die a little. Before long Maddie is by my side.

"Oh god, Jakerlyn are you okay?" I looked up and wiped the tears away.

"Yeah I'm fine" I said, smiling slightly and turning away. My haze stopped on Selena and Alijah. They were both staring at me, Alijah's soft eyes widened in horror as I hadn't put my jumper on and had turned to the side. His gaze shifted to my wrist, he gasped and covered his mouth.

"Babe, you okay" Selena said, tugging on his shirt slightly, he pointed towards me.

"She isn't...She's..." He struggled to get his words out, she looked over to me again and her eyes widened at the red slits along my arms. I tugged on Maddie's arm and she turned to me. She asked what was wrong. Just as I was about to tell her. An arm grabbed my wrist.

"We need to talk" It was Selena, she pulled me away from Maddie.

"Why Jak?" I stared blankly at the ground. She placed her hand on my shoulder.

"Jak..Please, you have to tell me"

"Why should I tell you?" She removed her hand.

"If you wont tell me, at least tell them" she spoke sincerely and gestured to the few friends I had and her boyfriend.

"Selena, you don't get it"

"Get what?" I lowered my head and smiled sadly. Why does she even care about me?. I thought to myself.

"I can't tell anyone...I honestly can't" my eyes watered and tears threatened to spill over. She gave me a sympathetic hug.

"I'm sorry I've been treating you like crap lately...I am so sorry you did this to yourself" she said as she lifted my arm up. My pulse started to race at the thought that she actually knows and even gives a shit.

"Selena" Alijah said, pulling her away from me.

"Lets go" She backed away and gave me a sad smile, I turned back with tears and a look of confusion and went back to Maddie.

"So what happened" she said, grabbing my wrists tightly. I winced slightly.

"She was....She was....Being nice" I said slightly louder than I intended to. The whole class turned towards me.

"Nice!?" Maddie questioned and turned towards Selena. A quiet growl escaped her mouth and she walked me in the other direction of them.

"Do you think it will last?"

"What?" I said to weakly.

"Them being nice?"

"Fuck no!" I said as I stopped dead in my tracks.

"What's wrong?"

"I know its a long shot and wishful thinking, but part of me hopes it lasts a long while"

"But...We all know it wont, give it a week, and it will go back to how it used to be" She continued to walk ahead of me, but my feet were stuck in their place, they wouldn't budge. Within moments, my head started to spin and my wrists had started to ache from the cuts.

"You coming?"

"Yeah" I said weakly, I took a step forward and fell to the ground. A few people rushed to my side as Maddie caught me.

"IS SHE OKAY?" A voice called out, my head was pounding and I couldn't make out who it was.

"Are you okay?" Maddie asked when I recovered.

"Just...Lack of energy" I said getting up.

"How much sleep you had lately"

"Reasonable amount" she sat me upright and kept her hand in the centre of my back.

"Jak..." It was Selena's voice.

"I don't want to talk to her" I said quietly before standing up and dodging a ball.

"CATCH BITCH!" It was Ryder who had said it.

"Screw you"

"WHORE!"

"CAN EVERYONE BACK THE FUCK OFF HER!" Maddie screamed out before sitting me on a chair. I rested my head on her shoulder as my eyelids became heavy.

"You look pale" Selena said as she approached me, she placed her hand on my arm which ended up startling me.

"Shit, sorry" she said right away.

"Don't be" I said standing up and turning in the opposite direction.

"I wouldn't expect her to be respectful towards you just yet. Okay" Maddie said standing up.

"And what the fuck am I meant to do to get that fucked up mental pathetic bitch to be fucking nice to me...HUH" After a second Maddie just turned around and slapped her.

"Lets get one fucking thing straight! DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT FUCKING SHIT ABOUT HER AGAIN YOU LITTLE FUCKING WHORE! YOU AREN'T EVEN LOYAL TO YOUR OWN FUCKING BOYFRIEND! HE HAS THREE FUCKING DAYS OFF AND YOU FUCK HIS FRIENDS, WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT TELL PEOPLE!" Maddie took a step back and Selena had tears in her eyes.

"He doesn't want to do it with me though"

"Wonder why that is" He said, finally speaking up and then running off with tears running down his cheek. Me and maddie looked at each other then around the whole class.

"Someone go after him" Parker yelled. Alexis took off in the blink of an eye. Katrina just looked shocked, and everyone else was whispering terribly. The bell rang and we went home.
