An angel,
She said,
Watches over you and I
I shed a tear
And start to cry.
Never mind that,
You have nothing to fear,
If you stay away from the danger
The lurks very near.
What danger?
She said,
Wiping her eyes.
The danger that tempts you,
Retaliation,
Anger,
Hate.
She said
Very softly.
Don't allow the evil to stay in your heart,
Let good reside there always.
She said with a smile,
Make that promise to me my dear child,
That you don't let evil reside
in a pure heart of light.
The girl wiped tears and nodded her head.
Don't cry my child,
The elder woman said softly,
I'll see you again soon enough.
The girl let out sobs
And tried not to cry,
As the elder smiled once,
And then was gone.
