Chapter 9: All About The Reputation

A/N: The only change I made was the academy's name. It's not Carson Academy, but Crimson Glade Academy. HAPPY READING! :)

***

If you asked me what the story was behind our school, I’d say, “Ask Maria. She’s the expert.”

And if you asked Maria what the story was behind our school, she’d say, “Just search it up on the internet.”

So being the kind person that I am-

And so modest, too…

- let me reveal a bit of information about Crimson Glade Academy.

Crimson Glade Academy (also known as CGA) was founded by Felicia Maude and her colleague, Ronan Carson. To be honest, I don’t really understand the name Crimson Glade. But whatever (clearly a lack of naming skills runs in the family).

I mean, I get the app Hermessage- you’ve got Hermes, the god of travellers and messengers (not to mention thieves) and the word message mashed together. But Crimson Glade? What on earth was the name inspired by?

Okay, Aggie, back to your story…

Oh, right. Now, a few years after the founding of the academy, Ronan proposed to Felicia and they ended up getting married, so Felicia Maude becomes Felicia Carson. As you can tell by their surnames, they are somehow related to Maria- she is in fact their great grandchild, making them her great grandparents, or also known as the parents of Maria’s mom’s dad. This is very confusing.

Anyway…

Crimson Glade Academy was once designed to be a learning institute for all aged 14-18, but when their third child, Jose Carson (Maria’s granddad) became the next headmaster after Ronan, he believed that the academy was supposed to be for the best of the best.

Now, he wasn’t that prejudiced or anything- he just insisted that “only the youngsters who have the potential to become something more will be given the privilege to enroll” (quite straight forward there, Gramps).

It’s just like all those colleges who look at your applications and your academic background and decide whether you get in or not.

And just like some colleges, here in Crimson Glade Academy, you have to take a test. And your results from that test determine your knowledge in various areas.

If you pass, congratulations!

But here was the catch.

Crimson Glade Academy only took the 90 highest scorers from the lot.

That was it- only ninety students per batch. It was a fixed number. And the only way another student could get in, was if another student got out and left. For good. (“You either leave by choice or by force,” Headmistress Ruth- Maria’s mom- had said during our freshman welcoming ceremony last school year. “CGA does not tolerate poor behaviour and poor grades. I could care less if you acted like immature apes in your free time- just as long as you don’t tarnish our school’s name. In CGA, you are to exhibit discipline and respect at all times. This academy’s goal is to mold all of you into the better versions of yourselves, but then again, it’s up to you whether you’d like to remain brainless hooligans or not.”)
