[ four ] i'm gonna give all my secrets away

"I hate you." She muttered when class finally ended and everyone was headed for their lockers to change out of their PE clothes.

Ashton smirked at this.

"I wonder---Clar, how its possible to hate someone you supposedly don't know."

Biting her lip, wracking her mind for a good enough come-back, she finally decided she had none. It made her angry and the only words which she could put together in a response quick enough were a combination of words people use when they have no more to say. "Fuck you, Irwin."

And she strode down the hall, headed towards her house to change into her school uniform.

Michael walked towards the exit gates that surrounded the school, but stopped when he saw a red headed girl, hiding behind the corner of one of the school buildings. She seemed to be talking on the phone with someone, but it all seemed secretive, like it was a conversation she didn't want anyone else to hear.

There was a set of thick trees nearby and he thought he could hide in them to hear who she was talking to. Ashton wanted him to get her secrets after all.

As he approached, he heard her voice was a low whisper.

"Mum," She said, "I'm staying over at Clary's tonight."

She paused as the person on the other line spoke.

"Yes, she's Headmistress Morgan's daughter." She reminded her. "Oh, and don't forget. You and dad need to do your fifty community hours at school so I can keep my scholarship. This is very important." Her voice was stressed.

"So she's a scholarship student." He grinned.

At Hawethorne, most of the students came from wealthy families. But there was a small percentage that could get into the school through academic scholarships. The rules were that the student had to maintain a 4.0 GPA and had to be part of a club or sport. The parents were also forced to do fifty community hours around the school if they wanted their child to remain at Hawethorne.

Scholarship students weren't liked very much at Hawethorne. They were always put down by the wealthy kids.

But Rose Harrison claimed she was from a wealthy family. On free dress days when they didn't have to wear uniforms, she always wore expensive clothes and jewels. Now that he knew it was all a show she was putting on in order to fit in, he knew he had her in his hands.

He walked out of the trees nonchalantly, a smirk playing on his lips.

When Rose saw him, her eyes widened. "I'll call you back." She said into the phone.

"So...you're a scholarship student?" He raised an eyebrow at her.

"What are you talking about?" She tried to play it off, but she was too nervous to sound even remotely convincing. "You must have heard wrong."

"I heard you just fine. You were telling your mum that she needed to do her community hours or you'd lose your scholaship." He said. Taking a couple of steps towards her until they were only inches away, he bent his head down, as he was taller than her, and whispered into her ear. "Who would have though----that Posh Bitch----of all people, would be poor as dirt. Do your bitch friends know about this? What would happen if they found out?"
