You ruffled your hair, sighing in annoyance. "\Why are all these Math questions so frustrating!" you said while throwing your pencil on the table.

"What's up?" a voice came from the door, but you were too tired to be scared. So you just groaned while trying to look at the person.

"Oh. Hey, Vernon. Nothing much, it's just that Math is killing my leftover, rarely functioning brain cells," you rolled your eyes, sarcasm spilling out your mouth.

He looked at you with raised eyebrows, surprised at your grumpiness. "Okay, I can help you. Which one are you having troubles with?"

You gave him a look, but he ignored it and continued studying your book. You shrugged and pointed at the question.

"This part. I find it really confusing since I am not very fluent in Korean so I couldn't really understand it," you explained. He nodded understandingly before taking the book in his hands and starting to look at the question. After awhile of him talking to himself and you waiting patiently, Vernon finally puts the book down and starts to explain it.

"It took me some time--" he started.

"Yeah, it did," you joked, earning a glare from him. "Just kidding,"

He rolled his eyes before continuing. "It took me some time but I managed to sort this out. So, firstly...," and the lesson continued.

This went one for days, weeks. Slowly, you guys started developing feelings for each other, but neither of you had the guts to confess.

Until one day, as you were figuring out a math problem that Vernon gave you, a strand of your hair fell on your face, but you didn't notice it. Vernon saw and his hand went to put it behind your ear, freezing after realising what he just did.

Your head snapped up and you face immediately felt warm. He looked at you with wide eyes, both your faces suddenly only inches apart. He was the first to break the momentum and cleared his throat.

"S-sorry, I was j-just.. There was a hair on your-your face so I helped you put it back. Yeah," he stammered, completely aware of his nonsensical words. You just nodded, with a small smile on your face, before turning back to your equations.

He quietly cursed at himself and made weird faces for a few seconds before stopping. The room in silence, he looked at you, properly studying your face for the first time.

He noticed the way your eyebrows furrow together when you're concentrating, the way your eyes almost burned hole through the papers with their intense stare, the way your hair falls... Everything.

"Vernon," you said, bringing him back to reality. His eyes found their way to yours. "Are you okay?" you asked.

He hesitated for a second. "You're really beautiful, you know?" he whispered. You caught your breath, taken aback by his words.

"W-what?" was all you could say. He smiled sadly and looked at his hands.

"I'm not sure you will still wanna be friends after this, but it's better to let your feelings out," he looked you in the eyes and you looked back, tension between the both of you.

"I like you. So, would you be my girlfriend?" he finished and waited for your reply, his face full of desperation.

"Vernon, I...," you trailed off, thinking really hard. "I would love to," you finally said.

Astonished, he gaped at you, completely speechless. After a few seconds, he recovered and ran a hand through his hair, a big, dopey smile spreading across his face.

"Wow... That was really unexpected," he looked at you, smile never fading. "Are we official now?"

You shrugged. "I guess so. I've never been in an relationship before... And I'm glad it's you as my first,"

"Damn, sappy much?", he cringed, making the both of us crack up and ruining the romantic mood. Not in a bad way, though.

  We're happy.
