I slowly became concious of my surroundings. I heard bleeping. I wanted to open my eyes but it felt like they were glued shut. That famillar smell of the nurmerous hospital visits I had when my legs were crushed flared my nose. So, that's where I must be- a hospital. Some one was hold of my hand, I got the feeling back in my legs and they burned with pain. I heard my dad's husky voice- he was singing under his breath...to me, I think? It was that song he used to sing when I had a night terror when I was a litle kid.
Down past the forests of district 12
a lone tree stands tall and proud
In there a Mockingjay makes his home
there his nest is safe and warm
so lie down and rest my Mockingjay
No harm will come to you this day
Not while I'm here anyway
Baby it's time to go asleep
The lambs have bleated their last bleat
For tomorrow will be morn
and you'll still be here safe and warm.
"Daddy?" I croaked
My eyes slowly focused on his face. His face wobbled into a tiny smile
"Hi sweetheart- how you feeling?"
"I'm okay." I mumbled
"Good."
"Where's-"
"Rosie's running around brightening everyone's day like nothing ever happened.Finnick's having in physio for his arm." He raised his eyebrows "By the way, I need to talk to you about that boy."
I pulled the duvet over my head "Dad, don't start please- I thought you were happy that I'm alive?"
"I'm not going to start?"
"Oh." I nodded taking the duvet down again
He grinned and said brightly "Your mom already did that."
"OHHH!" DAD! WHY DID YOU LET HER!?" I groaned
He chuckled "Coz then I would've been in the firing line too."
I sighed "I want to see him."
"I'll go get him- you aren't allowed to leave you bed."
"Who says?!"
"The doctors." He stood up and muttered "I'll go get your boyfriend shall I?"
I smiled and mumbled "I would or you might be in my firing line?"
He kissed the side of my head "Okay: I love you sweetheart."
"I love you too: I missed you so much."
"I missed you too kid."
"OH MY BABY!" My mom sqeualed wrapping her arms around my neck and nearly stranggling me in a hug.
"Err...Hi mom." I sighed
