Chapter 1: Your New Brother

I've not written tons of DEH so I hope I write those characters well since this chapter IS Evan based...Hope you Enjoy. <3

(Evan's POV)

Evan was tightly holding the bottom of his shirt as he sat there in silence. He felt like he was going to die, even though he wasn't.

The car ride felt like it would take forever but before Evan knew it they'd stopped.

“Okay, this should be the right place. You alright Evan?” His mom asked and he nodded, even though he was clearly lying. The redness of his face said so. They pulled into the driveway and grabbed some bags out of the trunk.

This was it.

Evan's new life was just in front of him…Would they like him? Or would they hate him? He pushed the thoughts aside as he followed his mother to the door. She rung the doorbell and it was opened by a boy taller than Evan. He was wearing a striped shirt, an extremely baggy red hoodie over it, had blue eyes, messy brown hair, and was pale with freckles covering every inch of his body.

“You must me Heidi and Evan, correct?” He asked.

“That is correct, you're Jeremy aren't you?” Heidi asked, shaking his hand as he nodded. Evan stood there awkwardly, not saying a word.

“You betcha, now c'mon in, we already attempted to make dinner.” Jeremy said and the two walked into the house.

It was quite nice, and seemed like a quiet little household...until they heard yelling.

“W-W-What was t-t-that?” Evan asked and Jeremy sighed.

“My boyfriend Michael. He's playing a game on my laptop right now. I'll go tell him to quiet down.” Jeremy said, walking up the wooden stairs calmly.

“Well he seems nice. To think that's gonna be your new brother.” Heidi said and Evan half smiled.

“Y-Yeah.” He said quietly, not making eye contact with his mother.

“Sweetie what's wrong?”

“I-I-I just d-don’t want h-him to think I'm w-w-weird is all.” Evan said even quieter than before.

“Evan he won't think you're weird, he seems like the kind of boy who wouldn't care how you are and would still love you.” Heidi said before they realized Jeremy had come back downstairs with whom they assumed to be Michael.

“Sorry about scaring you. I didn't know that Jere was having company.” He said and Heidi smiled.

“It's alright, you're just being a teenage boy after all.” She said calmly. “Well I'll leave you three boys to yourselves, Jeremy, where's your father?”

“Upstairs in his room, last door on the right.” Jeremy said and she nodded.

“Thank you sweetie.” And with that, the three boys stood in silence. Evan noticed Jeremy and Michael were holding hands tightly, meaning that his new family would be okay with him being bi.

“So, you're JereBear’s step bro?” Michael asked, now laying on Jeremy as the taller male sat on the couch.

“Y-Y-Yeah.” Evan said awkwardly, pulling at his shirt again. It wasn't his blue polo though, it was a new shirt he'd bought before moving. It was black with a white tree design on it that looked like snow in a way. It only slightly calmed him though.

“Guess that means you're gonna be my step brother in law.” Michael said and Jeremy flushed red.

“Dude we aren't married.”
