Coincidence.
Coincidences are series of events that occur at the same time by accident but seem to have a connection from one another.
Coincidences are what drives two people together.
It can be a curse.
A blessing in disguise.
There's nothing in between.I never liked coincidences myself. Sometimes they wreak havoc that may or may not imprint a scar that serves as a painful reminder of the event. No one wants a souvenir from the past to remind you of your own mistakes. Scars, in particular. It can be physically, emotionally or spiritually. But the most hurtful one would probably be emotionally. As far as I know and have experienced, there are different types of scars. The ones that would come and go then heal. And the ones that would come but never heal.
Either way, no one wants permanent scars.
The sound of footsteps echoed through our silent workspace. This morning has been quiet to the point you could almost hear a feather fall to the floor. I don't know what happened that lead to the silence, but I can guarantee you that everyone is pretty much preoccupied with their own business. It's not everyone giving each other the silent treatment, or maybe at least one or two of them are.
"Oh hey, its you again! That detective from outside the bar."
I looked at the man being held by two of my co-workers and shifted my eyes back to my desk.
"What? No hi? hello? A hello would be nice right now." he continued."We found him hunched over to the same place that Lieutenant Kim reported." Jae, releasing the handcuffs, said.
"I already told you! I am innocent to whatever case you are working."
I glanced back at him.
"How did you know we were acusing you of involvement on a case?"
The man shot his eyes at me.
"Well Ms. Detective, isn't all of this enough evidence of acusation?"
I rolled my eyes at him and gestured Jae to go.
"Listen I really am innocent."
I remained my eyes at the papers in front of me. At this time, i fully didn't acknowledge the man sitting on the opposite side of this table, even if his eyes shot daggers at my direction.
"What's a woman like you doing at this precinct anyway?""Quite a surprise for someone who has impressive standards to be working on a stressful workplace."
"If I were you, I'd be a well-known beauty ambassador right now."
I stood up on my seat and glared at him.
"You do not have the right to categorize me stereo-typically." I said, walking out of my space. My nerves were trembling in anger and this wasn't the morning I expected nor wanted. I never understood why or why not a woman can't be this or that. If a girl wants to be a firefighter, then let her be a firefighter. The society immediately thinks that a woman can't handle a profession thats specifically made or thought for a man to handle.
It makes me sick just by thinking about it. In older times, women were seen as a mere fragile and weak person. Therefore they are forced to be the ones who stay at home and tend with common house jobs. But in reality, they are far more stronger than anyone can think. Although only a countless people acknowledge it. I guess some people are secretly scared of women overpowering the industry.
