“God has no phone, but I still talk to him. He has no Facebook, but he is still me friend. He does not have a twitter, but I still follow him.”

For the next few days I spent my time trying to find a Christian school that would take a pregnant student. With no luck my mom and I finally decided that I would go to the local public school. This brings me to why I am walking through the corridors of Liberty High school. As I walk I see few Students meandering around the halls before school starts. People send me questioning looks as I walk trying to find my way to the office. In the office I saw a little plump lady, with a pointy nose and thin wire glasses.

“You must be Janie Sinclair.” She said smiling warmly when she noticed I was there. I smiled back and nodded looking around. Then she continued, “Well here is your schedule, I hope you find everything okay.” I took the schedule from her and read the first subject, art. Okay easy enough I had time to spare I’ll be able to find it. I told myself. As I walked through the halls they began filling with teenagers and it became quite noisy. Finally I found the art class room the only person I could visibly see inside was the teacher.

“This is the art class room right?” I asked apprehensively. A man in about his late 20’s early 30’s looked up with a smile on his face.

“Yes, and you must be Ms. Sinclair.” He said looking at me.

“Yeah,” I said nodding my head. “I guess this is my first class then.”

“Okay, well have a seat then.” He replied going back to reading through a lesson plan. I walked down the aisle till I found a seat in the back row. I placed my backpack on the floor and sat down in the chair. I pulled a black leather back book from my bag and began to write.

“Dear baby,

I am just starting my first day at Liberty high school after a few days of searching for a school this is all we found. I don’t know you gender yet but whatever you come out as Ill love you all the same. My first period is art, and well I have never even tried to paint before. My other school didn’t have an art class. Well I got to go class is going to start.”

I closed the journal and put it back into my bag, people began flooding into the room. Suddenly I saw movement out of the corner of my eye and I turned my head just in time to see the most gorgeous guy sit down in the seat next to me. I didn’t realize I was gawking until he looked and me and smirked. I turned bright red and immediately averted my gaze.

“Settle down everyone. Today we are going to be painting, I want you to get with the person next to you and you will paint a picture together, I’ll give you 15 minutes to brainstorm the you must begin to paint.” The teacher said. I looked over at the guy next to me.

            “I’m Brent.” He said smiling.

I smiled back and said, “I’m Janie.”

“Well Janie, what do you want to paint a picture of?”

“We could paint a sunset and you a mixture of oranges and pinks.” I said shyly.

“Okay I’ll go get a canvas and some paints.” He said walking away. Me not knowing what to do I began to panic. I don’t know how to paint. I’ve never even tried. Tried to look calm and collected but I don’t think it worked to well.

“What’s got you all flustered?” Brent asks walking up with the supplies.

“Oh, nothing. I’ve just never painted before.” I said turning red. He just laughed and set everything up.

*Ring* the bell rang loudly signaling the end of class. I began getting all of my stuff together when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Brent smiling down at me.

“You’re new here so I’ll show you around the rest of the day.” He said a cocky smirk plastered on his face. I nodded smiling and we began to walk in sync down the hall. All throughout the rest of the morning I had been thinking about God. I mean if he was really there would he have let this happen to me? He doesn’t care why should I? I came to the conclusion that I didn’t need God in my life. As I walked to lunch a girl around my age began to walk by me matching my strides.

“Hi,” she said, “You’re new and I just wanted to know if you wanted to come with me after school and meet with my prayer group?” I stopped dead in my tracks and turned to look at her.

“Sorry but I’m done with that stuff.” I snapped and walked away as fast as I could.
