Perfect Timing (?)

The next day I wake up, and I couldn't remember having any dreams, which is strange because all I have dreamt about for a while is me falling to my death in my dream car. The same dream every night. I get out of bed and do my usual thing. Listen to Classic Metal radio on Pandora when I'm getting ready to start the day, and head down the stairs to find an empty refrigerator. ''Shit.'' I remark to myself. ''Looks like we're hitting up the trusty ole Walmart this morning.'' As I'm walking out the door I grab my keys and take a quick glance at myself in the mirror, admiring my taste for band tee shirts. ''Got that Dio, Holy Diver going on today!'' I state, realizing how often I talk to myself. All thanks to my lack in company. Suddenly, a slight breeze hits me on the nose and I can't help but notice how the temperature is dropping. ''I dunno if you want to take on today without a jacket Jupiter.'' I say it trying to sound like my mom. Laughing to myself at how pathetic that seems I run back inside to grab my Under Armor hoodie. I make my way back to the door, nearly eating shit while skipping stairs on the way down. Close and lock the door, start up the old Toyota, slip in a Metallica CD, and head off toward Wally World. When I arrived about 10 minutes later, I found that it was oddly empty. It's Walmart so there are obviously still a lot of people in it, but I was expecting a fuller parking lot, especially for a Saturday morning. But I waste no time getting inside, grabbing a cart, and making my way through the isles, choosing anything that I feel is a must have for the house. I'm careful not to choose too much though, since I am the only one at home, things last a little longer. Which can be a good thing and a bad thing. The positive part about it is that I don't have to go shopping as much, but the negative thing is that it takes longer for me to finish things, which means that they expire before I usually eat or drink whatever the item is. I was walking around a corner when suddenly there is a crash and my cart swings violently to the side. I quickly glance to my left to see a beautiful white and red vixen bending over to pick up the items that she had just dropped. ''I am so sorry! I should have looked before pulling out of the isle like that and...'' ''It was my fault.'' She said, breaking into the middle of my apology. ''It was a blind corner and it's not like you're a giraffe.'' I laugh at her latest remark, now helping with the items she spilled. ''That's true, I'm not a giraffe.'' I agree. "But I still feel responsible.'' ''It was just a couple of items, not a big deal.'' She said, pointing to the now clean floor. ''Here's your opportunity Jupiter! The moment you've been waiting for!!'' I think to myself. So I waste no time sticking my paw out, offering to shake hers. ''My name's Jupiter.'' I say in a questioning way, not sure why I was questioning my own name, but it came out sounding all weird and stuff. If I could re-do that I totally would. ''Cyber.'' She says. ''It's very nice to meet you!'' We small talk for another 5 minutes or so, it was kind of awkward honestly. I am very bad around girls and the last thing I want is to make a fool of myself, but it's too late for that. As the conversation draws to a close, I slip a little ''so, would you like to get dinner with me some time?'' "I would love to.'' She giggles a little as she says it. And we part ways. As I am walking back to my car, I realize that I didn't get her phone number! ''Awe shit!! Jupiter! You dumb fu...'' I exhale deeply. ''Yelling at yourself isn't going to solve anything, you need to accept the fact that maybe you messed up, and that maybe you were meant to be single and alone for your whole life.'' The whole drive home was spent with me mentally studying her face, her colors, her shape, and the super awkward conversation we had. I get to the house, stock the fridge, and cook myself some pizza rolls. The rest of the day went by slow, just like every other day. And I told myself that it wasn't going to change any time soon unless I learn how to talk to girls.
