Your POV
The truck rumbled, lulling me to a light sleep. I couldn't feel safe enough to lose consciousness totally. Yet.
Besides obvious reasons, I had been known to be slightly chaotic with my powers if I couldn't control them. Once I had accidentally travelled in time, and only barely managed to get back. I would've stayed in the past, but I had went so far back, no humans inhabited the Earth.
I spent the better part of a week running. I didn't stop to look at what, but I certainly heard them. I learned how to distinguish the dangers that were creeping up on you. How to know when a vegetarian was just sniffing for a place to sleep, or when a carnivore was hunting for its' next meal.
It was the first time I killed. Not just with my powers, but it was the first time I had to kill something so I could survive. I couldn't take the chance with eating plants and what looked like herbs. There were so many poisonous things out there. So I ate animals instead. I killed them mostly when they were sleeping, but that wouldn't silence their screams as I cut them. As the blood hit my chest that was heaving with relief that I could have something to eat, laced with horror at what I had become.
I was nine then. That was three years ago, and I still had nightmares.
Suddenly, Eleven's voice rang in my head, jolting me awake.
"You're almost here. Meet me at this house"
She projected a picture of what looked like a standard town house. But I had no idea how to get there. I stopped the driver and thanked him, stepping cautiously out, I followed the pull that led me to that house.
So this was Hawkins. I looked around, it seemed quiet. There were the stares and murmurs but I guess I would look in disgust at myself. I was a lone child. But I wasn't alone. I had Eleven... right?
I sighed, even the long drive here and the nap didn't help me feel any better. I looked down at my feet, I should probably get some shoes.
I stopped by a store and concentrated, stopping time, before I walked in and out with a pair of runners. You'd think altering time would be an advantage, perhaps stop the lab from capturing me in the first place. But it didn't work, every time and every scenario they seemed to catch me.
I had killed those men, I thought. Had they deserved it? What made them more of a villain than me, they were just soldiers?
Where were all these deep thoughts coming from??
I turned the corner and a girl with short brown hair, about my age stopped me and I heaved a sigh of relief. So this must be Eleven. She smiled at me and almost apologetically hugged me.
"Hey Two, glad you could make it"
"Eleven, I'm so happy I know someone here." I smiled genuinely.
"Are we... sisters?"
"I guess so!" Her face lit up. My heart warmed at the thought of something good coming out of this. But I wasn't sure I deserved it.
Eleven frowned slightly, as if reading my thoughts.
"Can you read minds?" I asked cautiously. I hoped she couldn't see into my past, even I never wanted to revisit it ever again.
"You've been to the Upside Down"
"Where?"
"Three years ago, you have traces of it. I can see."
So that was where I had gone to.
" I thought I had gone into the past, and just... got lost"
She stared at me, searching my face for answers, but decided we'd talk about it later.
"Come. We can go to Mike's house, out the back. I'll show you the way."
We passed the house and garden, and entered what appeared to be a darkish room at the bottom of the house. I peered at a table and chairs that seemed to be surrounded by four young boys. One was shorter than the other, and had a cute haircut that looked like a bowl. One stood taller than the others and had dark brown, almost black hair. He walked over to Eleven and hugged her tightly. The two other boys were standing closely together and smiled at me nervously, until one said
"Hey, so you must be like El"
El? I looked towards Eleven and she nodded.
"These are my friends, Lucas, Dustin, Mike and Will. Guys, this is Two." She gestured to each of them and I nodded with a small smile. So I guess I had friends... or at least potential friends.
"Well, I guess you must be hungry, and tired maybe." Mike said, looking at me worriedly. I sighed and nodded.
"You can maybe change into some of El's clothes, i-in the bathroom and..." He trailed off. El took it as her cue to help me settle in. I followed her to some draws to pick out some clothes, even though I hadn't seen anything but boring monotone shirts and pants at the lab.
Will's POV
El had brought another girl like her, and she looked scared. I couldn't imagine what she must have been feeling.
I instantly felt scared that she'd judge me for my time in the Upside Down. I had to admit, I was wary of her. I had been getting to know El for a little while, but I guess I still hadn't wrapped my head around the fact that she'd sacrificed everything to close the gate. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for El. She'd saved me, and the other guys on multiple occasions.
Despite my apprehension, it would be nice to get to know Two, even though she would treat me different after she found out about my past. It was bound to happen. But still, I felt excited about meeting Two, and I couldn't stop thinking about her deep (E/C) eyes and her shy smile.
