What to do on a sunny day

Will's POV

I thought the best thing to do was to get Two doing something fun, something to keep her mind off the Upside Down.

I decided to take her to a local park, but in a secluded area so there weren't many people around.

It was an awesome sunny day, and Jonathon was free to drive us to the park. I gave Two some old jeans that mum used to own, and a yellow top that was Eleven's. I smiled at how Two's eyes lit up when I handed her the clothes, I wondered how badly she was treated in the lab. I couldn't imagine what she had been through, and added on top of that was the upside down. Well, I had experienced a tiny bit of what she had, a week in the Upside Down had been like hell.

I just hoped it wouldn't come back for me. But deep down inside, I knew it would.

I waited patiently for Two to get dressed, and when she reappeared, she looked so much happier and carefree. Her (H/C) hair had been put into two low pony tails, and they fell gracefully onto her top. She was blushing, and I realized I'd been staring for too long.

We both looked down to the floor in embarrassment. But I shook it off, and took her hand, nodding to her "you look pretty Two". She beamed and hugged me, in happiness this time.

Your POV

I can't believe Will has been so accepting and caring for me. Slowly, but surely, maybe I'll heal from my past. I looked to my left side at Will, he was bopping his head to the beat of the music, and Jonathon was singing along. I smiled, this was what family was like. I could get used to this.

But Papa would find me, I know he would. Eleven told me her Papa was dead in Hawkins, but there were at least three other labs, they would find me. I shuddered, my breathe hitching slightly.

Will asked me what was wrong, but I just shook my head, and hugged him from my side. Jonathon looked concerned, and was about to pull over, but I stopped him.

"No, it's fine. Just keep going. I... I don't want to stay at home." He nodded, and kept driving, whilst Will gently brushed my head in comfort. It felt nice. I looked up at Will and licked my lips. I had never kissed anyone before, I hadn't felt this way about anyone before.

Will's POV

Two looked so beautiful, she looked as if she wanted to kiss me. But I was scared, I hadn't kissed anyone before, I hadn't even felt like this for a girl before. Before we could move, Jonathon stopped the car and looked behind, making us turn away and shuffle slightly, so Two wasn't almost on top of me as she had been before.

"Well, we're here kiddos. Let me know if you guys need anything, I might just pop over to Nancy's..."

"Yeah, that's fine Jonathon" I smiled, taking Two by the hand and getting out of the car.

After the Upside Down, mum rarely let me go outside without an adult, but Jonathon was a little more lenient. I needed times like these, in the park or at castle Byers. Just me and a nature that wasn't dark, dangerous and disturbing.

I led Two to a nice grassy area, and we sat down.

"I thought we could talk about, I don't know. Stuff?... While we're out here" God, I was so bad at talking sometimes.

Your POV

I turned towards Will, smiling at his awkwardness. His voice sounded so unique, a mixture of textures. I could listen to him talk all day, even if he didn't know what to say.

I stood up, and stared at the deep blue sky, feeling the sun on my face. Will stood up with me, and placed his hands in his pockets, shrugging.

"You don't get many pure sunny days like this in Hawkins"

I smiled.

"This is perfect" I whispered, just loud enough for Will to hear.

It was perfection. I had been in this meadow before, but not like this. Not with the sunlight streaming down, and the grass and trees alive. I could almost feel the Earth's heartbeat underneath me.

I took of my shoes and walked barefoot in the meadow, dragging Will along with me. We ran for a few minutes, with our arms outspread, just relishing in the feeling of fresh air and sun all around us.

I stopped in a clear area, turning to Will.

"You know, I can manipulate time, and pretty much all living things that time controls."

Will's eyes widened in amazement.

"That's pretty awesome Two." I smiled, and looked for a good place to show him what I could do.

I know I didn't have to impress Will with my powers, but I felt like I had to show him I could control life as well as death, I could control the good things, and not just the bad things Papa forced me to do.

I concentrated, moving my hands to control something from deep within the earth. I felt the seeds open up, and grow, growing inside the earth, and it rose up. The tree kept growing, it's branches outstretched and wrapping around each other, the bark seemed to coil around the air, before settling in a position to create a shadow over the meadow.

I stopped, breathless, but happy with what I created. I wasn't bleeding, because growth and life did not take as much power as death. I looked to Will, and he was just staring at it, with his mouth in a wide smile.

Will's POV

I couldn't believe what Two had just done, this was amazing! And it was only a snapshot of what she could do. I gasped in amazement, marveling at how a fully grown tree now hung over the meadow. It had grown within five minutes. God, Jonathon would have been excited to film this. But we couldn't tell anyone we didn't trust.

In fact, I felt protective over the tree. It could be our little hideaway, like Castle Byers was for me.

I walked up to the tree and felt the bark, Two joined me and stared into my eyes. She looked happy, but cautious, as to what I thought of her powers.

I smiled, and hugged her in delight.

"That was amazing Two!" We both laughed, and spent an hour or two playing next to the tree. Two taught me to climb, and I taught her how to write her name, so we could carve them into the tree. That way we'd know it was our tree, even though Two insisted, she'd feel its' life pulse.

I didn't know exactly what that meant, so I asked her.

"It's like... an energy that all living things give out. If something is dead, I can try to restore it. If something is not yet living, I can open its life pulse. I can't create one out of thin air, but many things have a dormant life pulse."

"So, are all life pulse's different?" I asked.

She smiled softly, taking my hand.

"Yours is warm, and caring" She said. I blushed under her gaze, but squeezed her hand tightly.

"Thanks for this Two. I-I haven't been this happy in a long time" I admitted, looking away.

Your POV

I couldn't help the frown that followed Will's comment. I had done that to him. If the Upside Down didn't exist, none of that would've happened.

Suddenly, I felt it. The dark entity that was growing, had once again awoken. It was coming for us. It was coming for Will.
