Throughout my morning classes, all I thought about was my eventful first day and all my questions I had. Angel was just confusing and Roland was a bit weird. I had no idea there would be so much going on within the first day. By the time lunch rolled around for the second day in a row I had my head stuck in the clouds.
I entered the cafeteria and easily spotted Heaven's fire like hair. I glanced around a bit before I shuffled to her. Her green eyes landed on me and smiled in glee. A few people that stood near her peeked at me.
"Elsie. Hi! I didn't see you yesterday at lunch. Did something happen?" As she spoke she went from delighted to a bt worried.
"O-Oh. I got lost and missed it... s-so Angel took me into town to get some food..." I almost mumbled the last half.
"Really?....Anyways. Meet my friends." She looked at the group around her. "Missy, Damien, Nora, Rainier, and last, but definitely not least, Viviana."
Missy, a strawberry blonde girl with big, brown eyes, clung to Damien, who was taller than Heaven and had an almond skin tone. He smiled a greeting before focusing on Missy who poked his nose. Feeling a bit awkward, I looked away from the couple and to Nora, a girl with long, silky straight black hair and hazel eyes.
"Hey." She said throwing me a small smile.
I mumbled a hello before looking at Rainier and Viviana. The two looked similar to Missy and I assumed they were siblings. Viviana had big brown eyes, just like Missy. Rainier, on the other hand, had icy blue eyes. They both had the same shade of hair and all were fairly short. Reinier was just taller than the two by only just a few inches.
"So... What Grade are you all in?" I tilted my head.
"Viviana is in 9th. Missy and I are both in 11th like you. Reinier, Damien, and Nora are all in 12th." Heaven blurted out before anyone else could answer.
The dismissal bell finally rang, and students began packing their things and leaving the class. I gathered my paper and shoved them in my bag. After I pushed my chair in unlike other students, I left the already empty classroom. I walked through the hall where students either walked and chatted or dashed past the others. It was loud. Too loud.
I turned down the hall until I came to an exit to the back of the school. It was different from the one from the day before because this door led into a large field while the other led into the forest. I happened to spot the forest to the left. Then to the right was a small greenhouse.
I turned to the right and began walking towards the small structure. As I got closer I could see it looked a bit run down. A few of the panes were missing along with the door. It was a bit eery which caused a shiver to run up my spine. I didn't have a good feeling about that meet up with Roland. It could have been sort of trap for a ruthless prank.
I entered the greenhouse and felt a draft from one of the holes in the side of the building. Curiously, I glanced around. Broken planter pots, wilting flowers and shrubs, and two plastic chairs. I stepped up to one of the chairs and sat down, still looking around. But after a few minutes of waiting, I began to get colder. I blew a puff of warm breath on my uncovered hands, desperate to warm them. However, they slowly felt chilled once again. It made me really appreciate the creation of coats and gloves.
After about another thirty minutes I stood up, rubbing my shivering arms. I wouldn't wait any longer for him. Getting sick wasn't worth it so I started to leave, heading back to the door from where I came. A voice from behind me stopped me in my tracks, making me jump in surprise.
"Elsie." Their voice sounded a bit rough.
I turned slowly. Biting my cheek, I met the intense eyes of Angel who stood a few feet from me. He seemed a bit annoyed which made me uneasy. Well being around him made me uneasy in general.
"A-Angel? What d-do you want?"
"Why are you out here? It's freezing and you could get sick." He hissed.
"W-Why are you so worried about me? I don't know y-you. And you d-don't like me." I tried to snap at him, but my voice was only a mumble.
"It's..." He paused and never finished his sentence because he was never given the chance to finish.
I quickly turned away, heading for the door again. Just as I reached it the door flung open, almost hitting me in the face. I let out a soft whine as I watched as Roland stepped out. He looked a bit shocked as he peered at me.
"Oh dear. Did that hit you, Elsie?" He said as he glanced up towards Angel. "Is he bothering you?"
