"A-Angel? No. No. He isn't..." I say softly, glancing back at the redhead.
He and Roland glared at each other and I started to feel more and more uneasy. They must not have liked each other. It was actually clear. And standing between them was me. If they wanted to fight it would be I, who is right in the middle.
"Roland." I murmured and his attention snapped to me, his gaze softening a bit.
"Yes, Elsie?" He asked in a gentle voice as if I would shatter if he spoke too loud.
"We should leave. I don't want trouble for either of you." I say in a hushed voice.
"No need," Angel spoke in a hiss as he walked past us. "I was leaving anyway."
I watched as Angel disappeared into the forest. Roland watched too, but he looked tense. As he turned to face me he gave me a fake smile. It was clear he had not yet relaxed. He began walking and gestured for me to follow.
"Sorry to have kept you waiting. Something came up with a teacher..." He explained to me.
The two of us turned and walked along the side of the school. Strong winds began to blow, almost knocking me off my feet. The wind was chilled and it felt like small needles pierced my skin, making my body shiver. As I glanced at Roland I noticed he had been watching me as I shook like there was an earthquake in my body.
"Oh, dear... You must be cold." He said softly, pulling off his coat.
I stared at him as he gently put it around my shoulders. I couldn't pinpoint it, but there was something very strange about him. It was a feeling that seemed to be crawling up my back. He was just so very strange. However, I hadn't decided whether it was a bad strange yet.
Realising how rude I seemed at that moment I mumbled, "Thank you, Roland."
"You're welcome." He smiled again, but that one was a lot more laid back.
After a few minutes, we reached the other side of the building, coming up to the parking lot in front of the school. We saw a few other students who also seemed to be going to their cars. Carefully, we crossed the lot until we came to a car that was a bit old looking but was still in good condition. It seemed like a lot of things here were a bit older. The school, his car, even most of what I saw in Bernfield seemed pretty old.
"Let me unlock the doors real quick." He said as I walked to the passenger side of the car while he pulled out a key.
Patiently, I waited for a few moments while he unlocked his door before pulling it open. He pressed a button on the side of his door and there was a clear "click!" I pulled my door open before I looked at him.
"Roland. Where might we be going?" I cocked my head to the side, unsure of what the answer might be.
"The beach..." He said, giving me a strange look that I didn't recognize before he plopped down into his seat.
I hesitated a moment, but I sat down anyways. Roland was peculiar, but he didn't seem bad. I tried to give him a chance. Not doing so would be pretty unfair and just straight up rude. I wasn't about that so of course, I would give him some sort of opportunity.

Sorry for the break and short chapter. Not been in the writing mood lately and I've been procrastinating too much :c
