"W-wait." I paused a moment. "I don't have any money..."
"Oh, don't worry about it," Heaven says in a cheerful voice, wrapping an arm around me, pulling me close.
"We'll buy it for you," Angel says as he pulls out a wallet, thick with money.
My eyes grew wide as I looked at it. I had never seen so much money at once. I realized they did have a lot of money, but I would feel bad taking from them so I shook my head.
"I-It's Alright. you don't have to do that for me." I said softly.
"Shhh. Stop talking, Elsie. We know you don't have a lot of money so we-" She snatches Angel's wallet quickly before continuing. "I will buy it for you. Think of it as a gift."
I was a bit speechless, not wanting to say no thanks again and appear rude. Finally, I nodded my head and accepted what they offered. This caused Heaven to smile.
"Can't wait to find the next outfit." She giggles as she walked up to the cashier.
Angel and I had similar looks at panic. We couldn't bear to go through another round of this again. However, a wave of relief crashed over us as she called to us, "That's just a joke."
I sighed as I went back to the clothing room and changed back into the clothes that I had worn there. I carried the clothes on the counter and set them down so the employee could ring them up. After a few beeps Heaven handed over some money and the cashier shoved the clothes into a bag.
"Thank youuuu!" Heaven called to the worker as she walked out of the shop.
"One bubblegum scoop, Two cotton candy scoops, and sprinkles," Heaven said.
After a few moments, the worker hands her an ice cream cone. It was a baby a single baby pink scoop sandwiched between two sky blue scoops that had little flecks of pink. It was all topped with rainbow sprinkles She beckons Angel to come over to her and he trudges over, handing the worker a five dollar bill. Two then came and sat with me at a table.
The food court was a particularly loud place due to a lot of people sitting and just talking. The smell of delicious fried food floated through the air. My mouth watered a little as I stared at the brightly colored Heaven began to eat it. I hadn't gotten the chance to eat anything for lunch since She had dragged me out here before I could go to the cafeteria.
"What kind of ice cream do you want, Elsie?" Angel said with a sigh.
"W-What? I didn't say I want any." I said, looking away from Heaven's ice cream.
"I can see you drooling." He said with a snicker, causing me to cover my mouth.
"... I-I want..." I paused to think. "Mint chocolate chip"
Angel got up and walked to the counter before returning a minute or two later. He held a cone with three big scoops of pale green scoops with small chunks of chocolate that stood out again the green. He carefully handed over to me and I smiled a bit and mumbled a thank you to him. I stared it at a moment, scared I would drop it and it would go waste. I bit into it and I was overcome with a cold feeling all over, shivering. Then There was the satisfying taste of creamy mint.
"Mmm. This is reaaally good." I mumbled.
"Of course it is. It's ice cream." Angel said.
"O-Oh. I only ate it once... For my 16th birthday." I informed them.
Heaven jumped to her feet, causing me to flinch in surprise. I stared at her wide-eyed as she began to rant about how good ice cream was and how everyone should eat it.
"How? Just how?!" She shouted.
"Sit down, Heaven. You're distracting her from her food." Angel said, tugging on her coat sleeve.
Heaven sighed and sat down with a pout. Slowly, I began to eat more of the ice cream, getting chills with every bite. When I was almost done my tongue began to get very numb. However, I continued to enjoy its goodness until it was gone.
