"E-Excuse me..." I whispered, trying not to look either of them in the eyes.

"Excuse you indeed." The black haired girl snapped, causing me to flinch.

Ms. Leals stifled a laugh with a hand, showing off her long, pedicured nails. The black haired girl continued to scowl at me, causing a lump to form in my throat and my eyes almost water. I was scared.

"I-I... need to get through..." I swallowed the lump, but it formed again.

"Hm. No. I am not obliged to move for you." The girl spoke harshly again, flipping some of her hair off her shoulder.

My lip began to tremble a bit as a tear slipped out of my eyes. I didn't understand why they were being so hostile. A small smirk crept onto the face of the black haired girl, obviously satisfied with my reaction.

"What a crybaby!" Ms. Leals cried out followed by a laugh.

"Why don't you go cry to the old man? Oh, wait. You can't because he is dead. Aww," The other girl said sarcastically, with a fake frown.

I felt a strong force hit my heart, making me cry out in pain. It took me a moment to realize it wasn't physical, but instead, it was their words. By now tears began to stream down from my eyes, gathering at my chin.

"P-p-please let me th-through," I whimpered the words out.

"Again, Elsie. I'm not going to." She hissed.

"Starla. Adeline. Leave her alone." Someone barked at the two, grabbing their wrists and yanking them away from the stairs.

"Ugh. Nora!" Starla Leals whined as she crossed her arms. As I looked between Nora and Starla and found a lot of similarities between their looks.

"Oh- Shut the heck up, Starla! Don't be bothering this poor girl. Mom raised you better!" Nora yells causing Starla to flinch. "You too, Adeline!"

"You're not my mom. You can't tell me what to do!" Adeline, the black haired girl, shouts back at Nora.

"Well I am your sister! And I'm in charge of you here. If you don't straighten out have fun explaining to mom what you did." She scowled at her, but after a few more moments of complete tension Adeline steps back.

"Whatever..." She spun on her heel and stopped down the stairs. Starla scrambled after her and I glanced at Nora again. She inhaled deeply, trying to calm down. Then she exhaled, offering a bit of a smile.

"Sorry about that, Elsie." She apologised as I stepped up the last few stairs.

"It's fine... I-I should be thanking you." I said, smiling a bit. She laughed a bit, shaking her head a bit. Together, we began walking down the hall.

"It's no problem. My sisters can be... Well they just need to chill." She says, turning to me.

"Sisters?.... I feel bad for you." I mumble softly.

"Tell about it. They are both pretty much just brats." She sighed, rolling her eyes.

"I can't say I understand right, because I never grew up with siblings... in fact I didn't have much social contact with others my age." I explained. She nodded as we came to a stop in front of my door. Turning to look at her, I smiled, showing my appreciation.

"This is my dorm room. Thanks again for the help." I said, opening my door and shuffling into the room.

"No problem, Elsie. Can't let my sister's bully someone." She answered, walking off already.

I pushed the door closed with my back, leaning on it once it's closed. With a sigh I pushed myself off it and flopped onto my bed. It had been a long day and by now I just wanted to relax and rest.
