What's the one way to exceed in athletics?

Well the answer is simple. Get yourself a fairy godmother and wish to be me.

Just kidding.

Sort of.

Well I didn't get to where I am today that easily.

No. It takes a lot of hard work and tons of sacrifices.

You don't even know all of the parties I've had to miss and girls I've had to reject because I had a big game the next day.

The key is playing your game. Not anyone else's game. This is your time, your most important asset is focus.

If you are distracted from your game and you're not focused then you definitely won't play your best.

What I do to prepare before a big game day is I take a huge water bottle, put fruits and all those random leaves and put it in there for all I care, but being hydrated is the magic to feeling great the next day.

Sleep is also important to be at your best. I turn off my phone or leave it out of my room so I'm not distracted. I also go to bed at least an hour earlier than usual so I'll have time to go to sleep.

If you are concerned about your school work, know ahead of time that you have a game and work on the school work in class or instead of hanging out with your friends than go straight home after practice.

Or get yourself a genius girlfriend like me.

Just kidding again, but actually this time.

Don't give your work to other people to do it for you because then you're not really learning, and this will just lead to more stress later when finals come around and bite you in the ass.

Take practice seriously work on your techniques and keep in shape. Watch what you eat but not too carefully. You don't need to worry about that one ice cream cone if you just work it off later in practice. If you don't try in practice then you won't try in games. Treat everyday like it's a game day.

Dealing with the jitters is hard. Nerves just scamper through your body and tingles creep through your veins. It's a horrible feeling to not be in control of yourself and to not feel confident.

I blast my music or watch something on Netflix, anything to distract myself. I drink Gatorade or eat those power block things to fuel my energy. If I'm shaking a lot then I fidget or bounce my foot around and call one of my friends or something to distract me.

Don't let your anger take over your emotions and certainly don't let it get you kicked out of the game. Is it really worth it? I'll answer for you.

No! It's completely idiotic and stupid like seriously even if you're right and you're obviously right, who has the power? The ref does and he has the power to kick you out of the game.

Work with your team not against them. No one likes a cocky bastard who thinks he's gonna pull a one man show. Also good team karma is way better than everyone hating eachother for screwing eachother's girlfriends. Like get over it we're guys, not girls.

Try your personal best, don't worry about how you relate to everyone else. As long as you do your best and try your hardest then that is good enough. Winning isn't everything but knowing that you did your best and everything that you worked for helped you in some way, then you did your job.

Achieving what I worked so hard for is the best thing when I play my sport, the sense of success is what pushes me through those hours of training and what drives me to my state of mind on the field.

Just give everything 110% and strive to beat your personal best,

Every practice.

Every game.

Every day.
