Chapter Twelve

Lauren's Pov

I finish up my shower and get ready for breakfast I have no idea why my father insist that everyone be here and on time. I guess we might have either guest or some stupid meeting, as I finish getting dressed I walk and see Normani isn't in her room she must be at the table already I walk downstairs and see her and Chris sitting next to each other and I roll my eyes 

"Good Morning Everyone" My mother says sitting at the table and everyone greets her with a smile

"Your Grace may I ask why we all had to be here so early?" Someone asks and I look wanting an answer but soon I hear horns start to blow which means visitors I eat my food as My mother and father go to greet whoever it is and I wonder who it could be.

They walk into the room with a girl with her face covered I'm assuming a princess and some prince he isnt bad looking either he has sort of long brown hair and dark eyes and his facial structure is beautiful he is a very pretty for a man

"Everyone stand and raise a glass of wine" My father claps and we all do holding our wine

"To Prince Ezra and Princess Dua of the far North" he says and everyone takes a sip and it's not until the princess takes her veil off that I start choking on my wine I can't believe it's her she's a princess and in my home and Normani is also here I watch Dua come over to me with some water and she rubs my back

"Here princess drink this  is everything alright" she says in a  whisper with a smirk still slowly caressing my back and I look over and see Normani staring at us so I sip the water before thanking Dua who sits next to me and I honestly am so nervous

"Princess Normani I have heard stories of your beauty and I tell you whoever started them should be ashamed that they don't even come close to how beautiful you actually are" Ezra says looking over to her and I can tell she is blushing and I roll my eyes

"Thank you Prince Ezra" she says bowing her head to him 

"Yes I am a very lucky man to think in one month I get to make her my wife and future Queen" Chris says grabbing her hand and she puts on a fake smile and I suddenly feel a hand on my thighs causing me to look surprise before trying to hide it and moving Dua's hand away but I think this only makes her want to touch me more but once again I move her hand under the table

"What are you guys doing here" I ask Ezra who looks to my dad

"Ahh yes they are here to find a Queen" he says and 

"A queen?" Normani , Taylor and I all ask

"Yes and I told Ezra if her swears to be here whenever I may need him with his warrior he can have any high born woman that he pleases even you" he says looking over to Mani 

"What Father she's mine" Chris says angrily 

"No she was given as a gift to me and I gave her to you, Her father wants her to be a Queen and I will keep my word to him and keep his people protected but if Ezra decides he doesn't want one of your sisters and wants her you get Dua" My father says and it disgusts me they are talking about her as if they own her like some sword that can be passed around 

"What about what she wants?" I ask making everyone look at me 

Normani's Pov

"What about what she wants?" Lauren asks and everyone looks at her and I try to keep my smile in I adore how she stands up for me

"She wants her people safe right?" The king asks and I nod

"Yes your Grace" I say politely 

"So it is done Prince Ezra you have one month to decide who you will take as your queen and Chris if he doesn't pick Princess Normani you will wed in two months"  The king says before walking away from the table with a cup of wine and I suddenly feel stressed what if Prince Ezra wants me or what if he wants Lauren
