Lunch was next. I exited the nurse's office and walked into the cafeteria that was only a few steps away. One hand held my lunch sack by my side as the other held the small ice pack to my eye. I looked around, trying to find Gerard, or Pete, or someone. They were the first few people that were friendly enough to talk to me, so I knew I wanted to sit with them and hopefully make friends.

My gaze landed on the kid who gave me the black eye. He glared at me from across the room, ripping a brown napkin to shreds. I looked away as fast as I could, hoping and praying he didn't give me some sort of curse. At one table, Gerard and Pete were motioning me over, so I happily walked over to them and sat down.

As I listened to them converse with the people at their table, which all had some sort of fringe or colored hair, about if art class or music class was better, the kid walked past the table and smacked the back of my head. My nose flew forward and into my chocolate pudding, which I just opened and was about to eat.

I groaned as I wiped it off with a napkin one of the kids handed me. "Hold on, guys. I have to deal with something." I stood up and began to walk over to the kid, who was getting napkins from the table that held plastic forks, spoons, knives, and a napkin dispenser. Their eyeliner filled gazes followed me over. I stood directly behind him, waiting for him to turn around. When he did, his shoulder smacked my face, which was right at level with me.

"What the fuck, freak?" He grumbled. "Watch it." He tried to push me out of the way to get to his table, but I stood my ground. So when he just gave up and tried to step away from me, I stepped in front of him. Our eyes met as he glared frustratedly. "Listen, motherfucker, if you want, we can take this outside and recreate the game in gym. But instead of dodgeballs, the thing that will be hitting your face is my fist, is that clear?"

His friends stepped behind me, one tall and one short. "Billie, maybe he wants to make a move." The tall one smirked.

"Yeah, I think he likes you, Billie." The short one giggled.

The kid - Billie - raised his eyebrows. "Oh really?" He grabbed my shirt collar and pulled me close to the point where our noses were inches away. His breath smelled like coffee and black licorice. "Do you wanna fuck me or something, kid?" He then shoved me away, so hard my ass landed on the cold cafeteria floor. "In your dreams, faggot."

He then began to walk away. As he did, I called his name. "Billie!" He turned around, his friends repeating the same action. "What's the point of picking on me?" It was just getting annoying. All I did was run into him in the hallway, I didn't see why he had to spring onto me like that and try to fight me for no reason.

He glared at me. "The point is I'm going to ruin your life, you little bitch." They all then turned on their heels and walked off, snickering. Wow. My first day here and I was already making friends.
