I don't own Kantai Collection or any of its characters. I don't own any warships either, just so we're clear. I only own my OCs and their history. Still don't own any art. Nothing more, nothing less.

Sometimes Avelina wondered why she would even try to exercise. Though, that wasn't something she could wonder about right now. She wanted to serve in the Navy, didn't she? So, all she could do was suck it up, and keep running. And she ran right past her father in doing so.

"Anak!"

Upon hearing that, she stopped, and turned around. For the occasion, she was wearing her blue dry fit shirt and athletic pants that hugged her legs, showing off her figure. It was 6 in the morning, and the air was cool despite the fact they were in Hawaii in the middle of the freaking summer. It had been three days since she was given the position of captain by Admiral Marianna, and she was devoted entirely to improving. Arizona had ran with her on the first day she suggested this, but it would seem that the battleship could last way longer than the shorter Filipino girl.

"Yes, Tay? What is it?" She asked him as she strolled up to her father who was in his NWU. "I was just going to start my running again."

He shook his head. "I need you and Arizona to come with me to meet up with Admiral Keller. Admiral Keller contacted officials about Arizona's summoning." Belvack told her. Avelina tilted her head to the side slightly.

"And...?"

"They need to announce her presence to the world."

"Are we ready? Do I look alright?"

"We're airing."

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, July 6th, 2019. The day that would make sure that Pearl would be remembered for something greater then an attack. That day, the whole world was watching. The announcement also hit the Ship Girl Base in Japan, and their admiral. The reporter immediately flipped some of her blonde strands out of her hair and spoke to the people of the world, "Good morning everyone, I am Hellen Amerind of CNN coming live from Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Today we're receiving word from Admiral Marianna Keller of the seventh fleet on more pressing matters then one would seem. Here she is right now."

Marianna took a deep breath as she stepped onto the podium. Today was the day, after all, that the world would know. She couldn't mess this up. Adjusting the mike to her preferred height, she cleared her throat, getting everyone's attention. The crowd was in front of the museum, and the crowd was more full of politicians than it was with normal sailors and civilians.

"Good morning, and thank you for joining me this morning at such a time." She began as she looked among the crowd. "Five years ago, the abyssals declared war on us, and everyone but the US had their World War 2 warships answer the call to combat this new threat. I understand that previous methods hadn't worked for the USN in the past, but, that all changed three days ago, evening."

Chatter immediately rose from the crowd as Marianna put a hand up to calm them. "Though, the USN was not the reason why she decided to answer the call." She spoke, turning around a bit as a certain fourteen year old girl made her way toward the podium. "Everyone, I give you Avelina Colorana."

Out of respect, the crowd clapped, some of the adults confused as to why Marianna was calling up a child. Avelina didn't know what to say, to be honest. Sure she spoke in presentations and such to her classmates and teachers, but on TV, and in front of a crowd? This was a whole different story. Taking a deep, shaky breath, Avelina spoke to the people present. "G-Good morning. I, really thank you for the applause, but, I'm not the reason why we're gathered here today." She told them nervously as a car pulled up in the drive way. "Yesterday, on the USS Arizona Memorial, someone answered the call, and she appeared because I was there. Everyone, we have our first American ship girl."
