Saizo (SLBP PART 1)

Chapter Thirteen

Every once a week on a Sunday, Lina will wait for Saizo at the cherry tree where he engraved their names...

But it's been three Sundays and Saizo hasn't shown up even once...

"What's his problem?!?" Lina thought on the fourth Sunday as she clutched the pouch containing the skewers of dango. "First he was sweet to tell me to not scare him like that when he saved me from being raped. After that he turned a cold shoulder on me when I tried to talk to him... Now he's totally avoiding me!!!"

They always promised to meet at six in the evening before sundown but again... It's turning out to be another futile wait...

Lina sighed as she plopped herself onto the grass and leaned against the cherry tree.

"If he's not going to arrive then I'll wait here till he does!" Lina grumbled to herself.

"And if I don't turn up then what are we gonna do hm?" a mocking voice answered her and Lina immediately looked up to the direction of the sound, which was above her.

And perched there was none other than her favourite ninja.

"Saizo! You scared me!" Lina huffed as she clutched her heart. "I thought you weren't going to turn up!"

"And I thought little lady said she's going to wait here till I do?"

Lina narrowed her eyes at him as she stood up to leave.

In a flash Saizo grabbed her elbow from the back, making her wonder how he got down from the tree so fast..

"I'm a ninja remember?" Saizo answered her thoughts and that suddenly agitated Lina.

Why is it he can read her mind easily and not she?

Why can't she understand him like how he does her???

"Let go Saizo I'm going home." Lina told him curtly.

"No can do little lady. You have my dangos hostage." Saizo chuckled as he whirled her around.

Lina frowned and she shoved the pouch of dango onto his chest.

"Here take it now and get lost!" Lina gritted out as she turned around and walked away.

Saizo again appeared before her and Lina clenched both her fists in anger.

"What is it Saizo?!? Haven't you had enough of playing around with me?!?"

Saizo's face remained emotionless.

"Me playing around? You sure you have the right to accuse me as such?" he asked, venom seeping into his tone.

Lina's brown eyes widened as she felt the fury radiating from him, taking a step back.

Very soon her back was pressed against the sakura tree...

"Wh-wh-what what are you ta-talk-talking about Sai-Saizo?" Lina whispered as she clenched her fists harder.

Saizo by now has closed their distance and bent down to look into her eyes.

"Who was it that was playing around with whom feelings hm?"

Lina scrunched up her face.

"I-I I have no idea what-what you're-you're talking about.."

"Sure you don't..." Saizo whispered, his crimson eyes never wavering from hers.

"Huh?"

"You know little lady... One of the things I love about you is your innocence... You seem so pure but... That innocence is what gets under my skin..."

"Eto... Where is this going-"

"That innocence of yours..." Saizo slammed both hands against the cherry tree, trapping Lina. "When you seem so carefree... When Toshiie mutt confessed his love to you all over again... When Mitsuhide bastard took you out on a date... When you casually talked to that pain in the ass little lord... And when you went out with your brother to meet Kojuro paedophile..."

Lina frowned.

"Wait Kojuro is not a paedophile! In case you haven't noticed I'm an adult! A healthy young woman to be exact!"

Saizo was silent before opening his mouth.

"And that is what exactly I'm talking about..." his hoarse voice whispered as he slammed his lips against hers.
